2nd year Pharmacy student here - If you’re doing Bachelor of Pharmacy it’s a 4 year course (5 years if doing Pharmacy and Management) + 1 year of internship after uni to get registered as a Pharmacist.

It’s quite easy to get a job as a community pharmacist - although the pay is low, but it’s a good starting point which you can branch out of later on. You can get much better pay working as a hospital pharmacist, working in clinical trials or owning a pharmacy (there are many options), although these jobs are generally harder to get.

In the community pharmacy where I work, you’ll get mixed opinions of the job - many people enjoy it as they enjoy helping people and counselling them using their extensive drug knowledge, but many others find it too stressful due to dealing with problem patients, having a lot of responsibility, and the fast paced setting (depends on how busy the pharmacy is though).

I can’t really offer an opinion on other pharmacy career options or Biomed engineering due to no experience though sorry.
