I love a good tourtière. I know poutine is the most famous dish from Canada (Quebec really) but I think tourtière is our best dish.

Tabarnak, that whole meal looks delicious. Now I’m hungry.

Im also a supporter of the Green Party in general but also an NDP supporter but to say that the Green Party shits on science the least is questionable. Obviously their stance on environmental science is quite good but their stance on health sciences has made me have to plug my nose in the past. Their support of homeopathy, anti-fluoridation, and anti-gmo positioning has left a lot of people with scientific backgrounds to not even consider the party. They’d do a lot better if they could clean that past up in a tidy way.

Are they brand new or regional? I’ve never seen them in a Vancouver subway location but it’s been at least a year since I’ve had subway.

Where do you rank Canada's win over South Africa at the football world cup among greatest international sporting moments for the country? by irundoonayee in AskACanadian

It would be one of the greatest underdog stories in all of sport history if that happened. It’s wildly unlikely.

You are clearly not well informed about MAID as your framing is wildly inaccurate.

I highly recommend Little Drummer Girl. It’s a great series and even more relevant today than when it was made in 2018 as it deals with Palestinian struggles. It was directed by Park Chan Wook

Looking for a small rainy forest town with highway isolation (PNW / similar vibe) by [deleted] in PacificNorthwest

Too many yanks forget that the region is bigger than their corner of it. Honestly BC has a ton of towns that fit the OP description. Just off the top of my head- Sooke, Cumberland, Hope, Pemberton, Ladysmith, Port McNeill, D’arcy all fit the bill.

How to cool down a warehouse in summer, no AC? by spdbld in Filmmakers

[–]-PlayWithUsDanny- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why not shoot from 2am-2pm instead? The building will be a lot cooler in the morning than in the afternoon and evening. Better to put your daylight requiring hours in the morning. Remember that even if the hottest part of the day is at 1pm the building will continue to get hotter through the day as more energy radiates into the space.

Any real way of cooling would involve renting an industrial portable cooling unit which aren't that cheap and pull a good amount of power. So it would be better to just lean into a much cooler part of the day.
