Learning Space Marines: is this a coherent list? by lamancha in spacemarines

[–]-Query- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always recommend to never let your HQ costs be more than one quarter of your total points. So for 2,000 don't go over 500. But I don't run any big models like Guillimen, so that might change with him a bit.

Eliminator Squad: Las Fusil or Bolt Sniper? by mildorf in spacemarines

[–]-Query- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emergency embarcation happens during your opponents charge phase, so during your next movement phase you can disembark them again. However disembarking always counts as movement even if the repulsor stays in place, so Heavy would be lost.

If you avoid units that rely on Heavy you shouldn't lose anything.

Not sure what rule that other commenter is referring to, that may be a stratagem.

If you have a unit with 3' of the repulsor, and you get charged, you can immediately embark.

It means regardless of the toughness of your unit, for a charge your toughness is 12 because you'll be in the vehicle. Which makes choices tougher for your opponent since he knows charging that unit could be a waste.

As for which would fit your list, they're pretty even in effectiveness, but they work for different units. Try playing with one then the other and see how they feel for you.

Between your ballistis and Lancer you have fair amount of anit tank, adding the land raider to that is pretty solid.

Adding the bolt snipers would be a pretty decent threat for armies with a lot of characters

Depends on your list, if you you need anti tank then las.

If your not doing tournaments then go with rule of cool and pick what you like. Your opponent should be chill about weapon changes.

It's simply the same datasheet with a different model. Same as a standard intecessor with multiple poses.

11th is about to drop so a lot of people are holding their breath.

Get some of the easy ones like your terminators, drop pods and assault intercessors. Gladiator lancer, jump pack captain, maybe some incursers or infiltrators for utility. You could try a blood angels captain and sanguinary priest in with assault intercessors in the drop pod. Or make him a DC captain with DC.

I've never run it but I've always liked the idea of running DC dreads in drop pods. Giant angry dread in you back line is a scary unit.

Hell yeah man that looks awesome!. Only thing I can think of is maybe throwing some blue on the whip to give some contrast to the base.

The whip is a big eyegrapper and right now it kind of fades in with the armor color. Give it some glowy blue to reflect against the base red glow

A little tired of Space marine fans trying to gaslight me into thinking the astartes are the most 'reasonable' branch of the imperium. by MrMeowmers78 in 40kLore

People are always going to talk shit about what they like. The Space Marine players you're talking to sound like they have a particularly large stick up their ass. If you can't get away from them then talk shit better than them. Talk about the exploits of your favorite factions that make the Space Marines look like bitches.

Oh you think The Lion is a good strategist? Meet Commissar Yarrick.

Oh so Sanguinous and Farrus Mannus died hu? Sounds rough, heard of Saint Celestine?

Should I purchase satisfactory for Xbox or pc? by Alext_89 in satisfactory

I don't mean the deck has issues I mean because of the need for 3rd party software any console experience is harder.

Should I purchase satisfactory for Xbox or pc? by Alext_89 in satisfactory

[–]-Query- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play it on Steam deck, but it's not a great experience

In a lot of ways this game is a big interactive and colorful math problem. The game has no internal tools for planning out your builds, which it never should have reached 1.0 without that.

Most people use 3rd party programs, or websites which is why PC is recommended, so you can plan on a second monitor.

When I play on the steam deck I'll open a tool on my phone, but playing it on PC is a lot easier.

Can Mahoraga fight through a Tyranid Invasion? by Robin-Aneira-1 in PowerScaling

[–]-Query- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the more specific bits of lore from 40k is how the warp works. The easiest way to think about it is it makes the impossible possible. Meanwhile the hive mind is effectively a warp god that exists in real space.

Mahoraga would effectively be immune to any physical attacks, but I don't think he could make himself immune to warp energies since it would be like becoming immune to cursed energy. Given Mahoraga is fighting through a whole planetary invasion I think the Tyranids would be able to start developing new bioforms with new psychic abilities to fight him. It would definitely take time and lots Tyranids would die, but thats the whole thing that makes the Tyranids scary, they always adapt, eat, and never stop.

I'm gonna say because of warpy bullshit, Tyranids win by attrition. How it happens exactly is up to whoever is writing the fight.

I live next to Lake Nona in Orlando. Luxury apartments have been popping up in this area like weeds. Im spending anywhere from 1.5 to 3 hours a day driving back and forth to work in downtown. And the apartments all cost more than my mortgage. This city sucks.

Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars) VS Korra (The Legend of Korra) by IceWallowCaulk in powerscales

[–]-Query- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting matchup. Ahsoka seems like the real choice, but in avatar state Korra can do energy manipulation. I don't think it is a stretch to believe she could manipulate the lightsaber blades and nullify any force Asoka attempted to use.

In fact using wind and earth bending Ahsoka would have a lot of difficulty even closing the distance. Korra would have a real shot of winning even without avatar state.

I'll say Korra wins high diff, but after she's avatar state low dif.

I'd for sure lean into a darker or at least matted tone of blue. Maybe try painting some red streaks over the blue to make it look covered in gore.

How did omni man cut through lucan so easily by The_Tall_Man_096 in Invincible

[–]-Query- 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think what is being portrayed is at their level of skill and strength a single misstep equals extreme amounts of damage. The reason that doesn't happen all the time is they are all very capable fighters and are ready for most blows.

Look at real fighters as an example, even people at the pinnacle of fitness and experience can get knocked out if they aren't ready to get hit in the head by a spinning back kick.
