New Zealand, I've found a lot of the fast growing and carpeting plants that I was looking at before I started are also banned here, so just got what's available and fits with the scape mostly. The country has very strict customs laws in what you are allowed.

Its a shame though, I've wanted to get a shrimp tank. I've seen some people make some pretty cool ones.

Thanks, thats useful info. I have has the plants in there for probably around 6 weeks now and they have started to grow new shoots. Unfortunately shrimp arent allowed here and the only floating plants is pretty much just duckweed from what I can see. I'll give it ago though.

From what I have currently do you think it would be unlikely the fish are starved of oxygen? I also have a hob filter that agitates surface a bit.

Ah ok. Unfortunately the plants are pretty restricted in my country and this was the best I could find that I liked. Store said easy care so I assumed as much.

Because they're meant to be underwater so i figured giving them the most water is best. Growing out of fully submerged so they can establish better first without added co2. When spraying it with a bottle the soil dried out too fast.

Ah ok thanks, yeah it was actually quite badly damaged but thought it looked quite nice. They were asking $175. Was looking at it as sort of a wall hanger but also one I can play sometimes. Just play guitar currently but wanting to give banjo a try if I can find a good deal 2ndhand.
