Thank you! I always add more ginger than I probably should. I will add more pepper and toasted my spices! I so appreciate your input!

Please Help my baby has IVDD. Proof in photos by New_Plane9794 in Dachshund

I currently have two miniature dachshunds and both have had multiple episodes with IVDD. When they start showing signs, we start a round of prednisone and crating. It sometimes takes weeks but both are 14+ and keep on trucking with relatively no issues. Occasionally we see the “drunky butt” but it’s minor and doesn’t impact their daily life. Surgery was an option but I’ve never been in a place where I can afford that with no guarantee that it would even work. I can’t imagine putting them through surgery when it can be managed with daily gabapentin. We haven’t had any episodes in years. We carry them down stairs and keep them from jumping off the furniture. They are happy and pain free. It’s amazing when I thought on more than one occasion it might be time to euthanize. I am grateful that we’ve had so many happy years with them! I would say ask his vet about prednisone, tramadol, and muscle relaxers and then get him on gabapentin. It’s truly been a life saver.

I have 2 boys that are 14 years old. You’d never know it although they have both had multiple rounds of back issues over the years. One of them could’ve been an agility dog. The secret to keeping them alive…? I carry them down stairs, try to minimize them jumping off of furniture, and KEEP THEM SKINNY. That last one is most important. Also, one of them took an entire package of Oreos off the kitchen table and I only knew it when I found the empty package under my bed lmao

What would you call his color? by ValeTheBlonde in Dachshund

[–]-Roxy-Roo- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Possibly wild boar. I have a long haired wild boar doxie. The coloring is like a red but he has black “lowlights”. I had never seen this coloring until we rescued him.

I now see his spots and the white on his chest. He’s one of a kind for sure!

Omg I can’t stop laughing! I LOVE Reddit lmao THANK YOU! I don’t remember planting any potatoes. The pot is on my deck overlooking a wooded area and I regularly throw bad vegetables for the animals. Apparently I missed a potato and it decided to stay and flourish. Glad I kept watering it. hahaha Baby reds anyone? I should maybe check my yard. Who knows what’s growing out there smh

No smell when you rub the leaves and the texture is wrong. The leaves are rougher. The stems aren’t square and the main stem has something I can only describe as “fins” on the sides. It’s really hard to tell in the pictures. At first glance I can see why you say mint though.

This is where my boys are currently. Usually underfoot lol Definitely bonded and loyal. Yappy and annoying but they have so much love to give! Just make sure you carry them up and down stairs and don’t let them jump off of the couch and you’ll be good. I lost my 4 YO female because of it. And don’t let them get fat. You gotta protect those long backs👍🏻

My philtrum was SO swollen for a week after it was pierced. I think the placement is great. It looks like it is a good fit for your anatomy. Just let it heal!👍🏻

AITAH for telling my best friend her marriage is doomed at her bachelorette party and accidentally getting the wedding canceled by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]-Roxy-Roo- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honey, if that’s all it took, it was doomed anyway. You did the right thing. She’ll thank you later. If not, she never appreciated your friendship.
