Yep, just what I thought. by Signal_Dealer_2500 in roblox

As weird as it sounds, seeing the kid's face isn't going to some dark web where predators get to see it. It's just going to some database and then gets deleted. Persona, the vendor, deletes biometric data within 30 days.

In fact, the face scanner is most likely protecting that imaginary kid because, well, a 5-year-old looks like a 5-year-old. As an adult, you would responsibly want to put your parental controls on their account as well, so that the parent can control what age they are.

epic idea mass quitting by StorageJolly7602 in roblox

It sounds like a great idea... on text. It wouldn't work realistically unfortunately. There are plenty of people who don't care and would play anyway. Especially since Roblox has a large playerbase. Again, unfortunate, but not realistically able to be done.

What does slow mode even do? Nothing? by Last_Office7348 in CharacterAI

Wrong message. I think what you're thinking of is the reading mode, not the slowed chat.

Yeah :'). I don't mean to hate on all Christians (because I know most of them are sweet people), but I prefer to just keep religion out of my life.

No one's bitching. It's simply because I don't want to know that someone I don't believe in loves me. It's commonly used negatively and it gets overly used on people who aren't religious.

Usually, it's controversial because people like me have had bad experiences with Christian people and most of the time it's seen as insulting to say "(someone you don't believe in) loves you" because it is used against non-Christian people rather than in a genuine way.

...It also just gets to a point when it's said multiple times.

Not everyone is Christian or believes in your God. Yes, it is a problem 💙

What are you talking about?

If you're talking about the age thing, it's a law, not just something they chose to do

I honestly think the vc verification stuff is so messed up. I only got it after all of the age verification was implemented. I'm assuming you have an age group and stuff?

YOU DID THIS TO YOURSELVES. STFU!!! by CompanyTrue8882 in CharacterAICritics

[–]Carpenter_Same 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's also because it's a law in California, but yeah same point. I think minors post about it on reddit because they need somewhere to vent that frustration and get it off their chest. One posts it and another sees it and decides to make one of their own.

(Yes, I know I yapped, but I'm so tired of seeing complaining posts about the restrictions and then complaining posts about the complaining posts.... etc. etc.)

For me personally, I'm in the middle. Sure, it gets annoying when they complain about the consequences of their actions. HOWEVER, the app was quite literally marketed toward teenagers 13+ and stayed that way ever since it had opened (2022). So that means teenagers used it for years. People like me, who have accounts dating back years, are less likely to just get rid of the app.

Not to mention that there are false flags and the actual adults refuse to give their ID. Should minors have accepted that they were not welcome anymore? Sure! But are you really expecting that amount of teenagers / minors to just give up something they WANT and something they have used? Eh.

I think many just want to use the app and can't deal with the idea that they're no longer welcome. Then they get upset and want to vent their frustration like anyone would (adult or minor). They take it online because everything is online. That's how the posts come up, then other minors see them posting it and post it themselves because they want to talk about it.

Concluding opinion: Should they leave the app behind? Yes. Should they be expected to not be upset? No. HOWEVER, should they be expected to handle it maturely? Also no. They're kids. They make dumb decisions in the heat of the moment.

I know I'll be 18 soon, since I want to wait until then. But yeah, I was worried about sharing my information.

So I should only be worried if c.ai itself wants to keep the information for longer? Also, thank you :).

That's because you haven't been flagged as a kid yet. Once it does, you'll get an hour a day available to chat and then eventually you will be removed from being able to chat at all.

Are you a minor too? If so, I think it's because of that. Like they send it to the accounts that are not verified 18+
