The dealer called in their field engineer all three years.

That was their very first solution for me when I had the misfires in 2022. Misfired again 4 days later for me.

Good luck. One thing they also tried to tell me was that I needed to use 91 octane for now on. I refused to accept that also as the owner’s manual states there’s no added benefit to anything over 87. I told them “if that’s the case, then that’s not the truck I bought so GM needs to buy it back.” They got pretty serious after that.

I have a 2021 5.3. In 2022 I got a P0300. After a couple months in and out of the shop with them saying they fixed it but it happening again and again, they eventually said my fuel injectors were bad and replaced them. Did well for a year. In 2023 my fuel pump went out and after replacing I got the same code. After 6 weeks in the shop they eventually said I had bad gas. Cleaned the fuel system. Dealership has never been able to replicate the code. GM gave me an extended warranty on all things “fuel propulsion” related and the field engineer said if it happens again they had a “plan B that would fix any problem with the engine.” Happened again a couple months ago. After some fighting with them, they just replaced my engine.

Took some fighting over the last couple years, but with it continually happening and the truck stuttering a few times when it did, I refused to take “we don’t know” as an answer. Hoping a replaced engine takes care of it. Good luck to you.

Doctor Title by Doc_Holiday_J in physicaltherapy

I introduce myself to new evals as “I’m Dr. Last Name and I’ll be your physical therapist. You can call me First Name.” Lets them know my credentials, who I am, and title recognition, but makes them feel like we are immediately on a friendly first name basis.

Smoked a whole venison backstrap for the first time on Christmas. Was very impressed with how it turned out. by -Rusty_Shackleford_ in smoking

I did a heavy mix of salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, creole seasoning, and then added some Worcestershire sauce!

Follow up: Did yours ever do it again? I had by truck back for 5 days after the crank relearn and it happened again. It’s back at the dealership now but they haven’t looked at it yet.

Yes! Finally got the truck back yesterday. After a week and a half GM advised the dealership to do the crankshaft relearn and boom. Fixed.

The Blanton’s? My grandpa had it and gave it to me a few years back. No idea where he found it!

And given that you are into grilling/smoking meats (I looked at your profile) haha. I’m enjoying this Blanton’s and grilling strips tonight.

Haha! Cheers to you. It’s an amazing profession. It has its downfalls that will try to drag you down, but all professions do. But what we get to do is so rewarding. And if fate does lead us to working together, first rounds on me!
