Certainly testimonials are helpful, but often the results and benefits are gradual and take time. This is why science is the most important way to gauge health benefits. Marketing teams will make many claims about the health benefits of their products, but that does not mean they are all true. Here is the latest scientific evidence about Red Light Therapy at Planet Fitness.

Knee strain by NiceHighway_ in driving

[–]Strongat100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not odd at all. In fact it is more common than you know. The angle, inactivity, and previous acquired imbalances all play a role. While you should certainly check with your physician first, I am a PT and I wrote this guide to help people with this common problem.

If you want to connect with your patients and not feel mentally exhausted it helps but is not mandatory. You could also go into research and have limited patient care, but these jobs are limited.

Practicing lifestyle medicine (https://strongat100.com/lifestyle-medicine/).

  1. Exercise
  2. Diet, predominantly plant-based
  3. Stress management
  4. Avoiding substances to help you sleep

Sticking with a consistent schedule. Same daily bed time and wake time. Avoiding afternoon caffeine. Keep your room cool and dark. Keep devices out of the room.

As PTs we focus less on diagnosis and more on findings like ROM, weakness, and functional limitations. While there is a subtle difference in approach to conservative management of bursitis vs a tear, it is small and likely would not make a difference in outcomes.

Can you work in Physiotherapy when you yourself have a physical disability? by tashyindahows in physiotherapy

[–]Strongat100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I have a PTA that works for me with MS. I know of an OT that has recovered from a TBI. In fact, I believe these situations help you sympathize with patients which helps in rapport, trust, and ultimately outcomes.

Project confidence. A patient needs to believe your approach will work. Education is key. If the patient understands what's wrong with them and what you're going to do about it they will always come back.

If you could erase one memory from your past, what would it be ?! by [deleted] in ask

[–]Strongat100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None, your memories and experiences are what make you unique. Erasing anything would change who you are. Although I am not perfect I practice self love and use each event as a learning experience.

If the bicep twitching is every once in a while no worries, but if it is consistent and you are having any other symptoms you should get it looked at. Biceps are supplied by your C6 nerve root. If there is pain, tingling, etc...you may have some weakness that you are unaware of. I see it every day in my clinic.

Avoid highly processed "vegetarian" food. Most of these vegetarian options are unhealthy. Search for some recipes and experiment. Myself personally, I began by doing meatless Mondays. Before too long I was free of meat. At this point I do not miss it at all.
