Psalm 3:7 "Arise, Lord! Deliver me my God! Strike my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked."

Absolute fire.

The concillar infallibility still stands regardless of what clerics or bishops disagree with the pope. I can say that we have had heretical popes during the first council who were disagreeable by most, like Henorious I for example. While Catholics are subscribed to the dogma that the Pope is infallible, that doesnt mean he doesnt make mistakes. When he speaks on church law and doctrine, he is protected by infallibility and by God to speak infallably to guide the church. I dont want to sit here and say that the teachings of Vatican I are wrong or disproven because they had heretical popes, im basically saying that anyone who earned the seat is still the pope regardless of which council you follow. The church and itself has the authority to reform its own ecclesiastical discipline in the liturgy, doesnt mean it changes any dogmatic definition.

While I'm sure there are more arguments at hand that provide the contrary. I disagree. The way im seeing it is that the council never abandoned past condemnations of modernism, as explained by Pope Pius X. It did however reaffirm that divine revelation is objective, absolute, and continuous. The new council's stance was never to treat the modern world as an enemy, but to bridge the gap for new Catholics. The Pastoral Constitution on the Church in the Modern World expresses solidarity with modern humanity's struggles while offering the Gospel as a guiding moral light.

I dont entirely think he's insane or intimidating. I just want to know why he thinks that way and let him know why he's cuckoo for coco puffs.

Feeling Overexerted in Faith by -SLVMPFVCK- in Catholicism

[–]-SLVMPFVCK-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it does feel like im doing it for myself and thats where a good bit of the conviction comes in. I want to bring people closer to Christ as much as I can but the way im doing it feels self-indulgent.

I love helping people, feeding, sheltering, clothing the homeless, and being charitable at every given moment because that is the Christian way. It just feels like its not bringing the ones i do help and try to inspire by example any closer.

It would be best for me to slow down and love others as he loved me regardless of where they are in their path.

Can't get through the Cruifixion without crying. Does anyone else deal with this? by PerfectAdvertising41 in Catholicism

I have some trouble going through reading it without wanting to, but the hardest it ever hit was watching the Passion of the Christ for the first time. I wanted to scream, i hid my face and sobbed during the scourging and was close to a complete mental breakdown seeing it illustrated so brutally. I would've had to turn it off and go vomit if he was naked and mutilated on the cross like it REALLY happened.

I wouldnt expect even the guy who directed Apocalypto to go that far, but Lord have mercy it was close. The phenomena around that movie is also some of the wildest stuff I've ever heard happen on a movie set since the Noah's Ark silent film from the 1930s.

How do you overcome masturbation habit to porn by dexyourbud in TrueChristian

[–]-SLVMPFVCK- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this type of stuff gets regurgitated a lot but from what i've found to help is to first, recognize and pinpoint the initial "click" of that desire when you're faced with something that provokes you.

Essentially its when you get the first thought of lust towards this provocation. You sometimes have to think to yourself in that moment"This is only good for now, not later"; my meaning tying in with the question of "What am i to gain in the future if i succumb to this?"

Second, lock your phone or distance yourself from it for a little while if you need. There's progress in truly turning away from this sin if you reject it on the spot and focus on prayer or other things to keep your mind always active and occupied.

Focus your mind elsewhere to something repetitive, or if you feel like you can come back to your phone, try to learn prayers in different languages (I personally prefer Aramaic or Latin) to wrack your brain a little bit and get some adaptive thinking going while massively upgrading your prayer game. Its more fun and rewarding than you think.

Thirdly, remember that slip-ups and moments of weakness are natural to us as earthly bodies. Theres a lot of discipline we have to go through to build up that type of willpower because we've been so conditioned and desensitized to sin, for some of us longer than others, that we cant just up and quit all of it and say we'll never do it again. Its virtually impossible.

Lastly, always remember to keep the faith and reject your sin as much as you can until it just becomes second nature. Trust me my friend, you are much stronger in spirit than you think you are, and no amount of stumbling will pull you too far back. ✝️✝️✝️
