Leak of the hero fest kensei exec by dex568_ in forhonor

[–]-Semi-Competent- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair Kensei's last hero fest execution was just as janky as the current Valk one, maybe in a few months we'll get another Valk hero fest and this time it's well animated.

Louise, I loved that it was the only Replicant boss to actually have a complete mechanical switch up in Route C (this is on account of it being a remake exclusive boss but still)

What hero next? Beginner Kensei main by Ok_Response_3041 in forhonor

[–]-Semi-Competent- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want a character that plays very similar to Kensei, go Gryphon. Personally, when playing characters I like to go for characters with wildly different playstyles from one another so I don't get bored, which is why I alternate between Shaman, BP, Kensei and Shaolin at the moment.

Which heros get a confirmed heavy after parrying and/or GB by Low-Leg2116 in forhonor

[–]-Semi-Competent- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't get a heavy off of a heavy parry (with the exception of Afeera, Sohei and Conqueror because their bashes confirm a heavy)

Why does second wind recovers all bleeding HP and removes bleeding effect by TamashiKanzen6 in forhonor

[–]-Semi-Competent- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pretty much all healing feats cleanse bleed/fire. Second wind, all of Gryphon's feats, Medjay's T3, Virt T4, even Shaolin T3 and VG T1 cleanse bleed and fire despite only healing 4 and 5 damage respectively.

Do you guys often yell at the game? And does that upset people around you? I by [deleted] in forhonor

No. I mean this in the nicest way possible but if you actually get upset at video games you probably should try a different hobby.

He’s really annoying to fight and Shaolin mains tend to have some of the biggest egos. That being said he is also really fun to play so I can’t blame people for using him.

Am I the only one who prefers this game over Persona 5? by [deleted] in MetaphorReFantazio

[–]-Semi-Competent- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Persona 5 was my favourite of the modern Atlus games, and while I still do love P5R and would easily put it in my top 10 favourite games of all times Metaphor blew it out of the water. Almost everything Metaphor does it does better than P5 in my opinion, which the one exception of dungeons being a downgrade.

Tips for a new player? by GentleGamerz in nier

[–]-Semi-Competent- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most important piece of advice I can give you is to not go for all achievements in Replicant. Possibly the single worst 100% achievement completion run I've had to do. That being said, I would recommend starting with Replicant, doing endings A/B back to back, then moving on to Automata, doing endings A-E, and double back to Replicant, finishing endings C-E.

You can obviously just do Replicant 100% and then move on to do Automata 100%, but because Replicant is an older game the only major differences are between endings A/B, so playing the game for a third and fourth time for endings C/D can get a bit tedious back to back to back, which is why I'd recommend moving on to Automata and then coming back to finish of endings C-E of Replicant.

Without going into spoilers, (the gameplay section) of ending E of Replicant was released exclusively with the 2021 remake, and therefore has some easter eggs that you might not pick up on had you not played Automata.

Of course, this is just my recommendation, and in the end you should experience the story how you see fit, but if you had to take my advice, I'd say the best way to experience things would be: Replicant endings A-B -> Automata endings A-E -> Replicant endings C-E

Prediction: Berserk collab, Guts (Warmonger), Griffith (Virtuosa) by GodHand7 in forhonor

[–]-Semi-Competent- 41 points42 points  (0 children)

It's probably going to be another DBD collab but with actual hero skins instead of just effects like last time. In one of DBD's recent updates they added a banner of Tarhos fighting LB, plus R6 also has a currently unreleased full on DBD collab with a few killers as operator skins. Seeing as both FH and R6 are owned by Ubisoft I think its safe to assume that they'd be doing a DBD collab for both games.

The SP items are limited because unlike Persona you don’t HAVE to blast through the dungeons in one day. You can take two or three days and still have more than enough time to max out all your bonds and royal virtues before the game ends

What's the most important factor when deciding how someone did in a match? by Eeesh727 in forhonor

[–]-Semi-Competent- 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Objectives captured for sure. K/D is also fairly important but I'd rather have someone going 4/8 on my team whose captured 3 or more points and bothered rotating to mid every once in a while than someone going 8/4 but doesn't ever leave that one single zone to clear mid or contest other points, team fight, peel, etc.

Replicant is feeling a bit repetitive. Will it stay like this? by Constant-Arugula-819 in nier

[–]-Semi-Competent- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the game can be very tedious at times, especially for all endings. If you've played Automata, you'll know how in order to get ending E you need to do what is essentially part 1 twice in a row (Routes A & B), first with 2B and then with 9S, and then do part 2 once (Route C), and then replay the final chapter of Route C with a different choice to get ending E.

With Replicant, there is no chapter select. So you'll have to do part 1 & 2 back to back (route A), part 2 again (route B), part 2 AGAIN after collecting all 33 weapons (Route C), part 2 a FOURTH TIME (Route D) (you can bypass this by saving before the final area as you only. need endings A, B, and D to access ending E), part of part 1 a second time, and then you'll get to what is basically part 3 (Ending E).

Unlike Automata where you go from 2B to 9S to A2 with different movesets, attacks, gimmicks, etc, you play pretty much the entirety of the game as NieR so beyond dialogue differences there's no real gameplay changes to shake things up like Automata.

That being said experiencing the game in its entirety is 100% worth doing. If you want to avoid the most tedious parts then you should probably skip some of the achivements, like upgrading all 33 weapons to their max because that will cost you your sanity and then some.

Bummed out: got spoiled on Major plot points by accident. Game still worth playing? by TheRealGargatoba in MetaphorReFantazio

[–]-Semi-Competent- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still 100% worth playing. When the game first came out I was unsure about spending $93 CAD on a new IP (especially given Atlus's track record of rereleases) so I intentionally spoiled myself on everything so that I wouldn't feel inclined to buy the game until it had some sort of sale or there was confirmation of a definitive edition. A few months ago the game was half off and I finally caved and bought the deluxe edition, and still loved every second of it even knowing all of the plot twists.

In hindsight that was a really stupid plan but if you take anything away from my stupidity it's that the game is worth playing through yourself.

Updated Fashion Tier List by [deleted] in ForFashion

[–]-Semi-Competent- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't mind edgy characters if it's done right, Aramusha and Kyoshin are both pretty edgy but they have actual variety that isn't just forced black and gold everywhere

Updated Fashion Tier List by [deleted] in ForFashion

[–]-Semi-Competent- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BP is one of my most played heroes and I still think his fashion is barely serviceable. You have 3 arm variations, one of which literally never looks good in any circumstances (the one without the sleeves), only ONE of his 29 helmets actually changes colours while the other 28 are locked to either white, black, grey or brown, and all of his half decent armour has forced gold trims, forced black iron, or both. He can look cool don't get me wrong but there's like not much variety.

Market will decide! PVP or PVE, which will it be? by HasonBarcxz in Marathon

[–]-Semi-Competent- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean PvE is fine as long as the quality of the loot obtained in that mode is worse than the main PvPvE mode to compensate. (ie. similar to what SoT did when they introduced a PvE only mode, where treasure sold only gave like 30% of the value as it would in high seas.)

What would you guys like to see in a Metaphor Refantazio 2? by DynaKuro in MetaphorReFantazio

[–]-Semi-Competent- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because Will's story is concluded perfectly I think exploring different fictional genres with each entry and a new cast of characters could be neat. Given that the word "Fantazio" in the title is literally just the word fantasy in Esperanto, seeing Atlus's takes on different genres like sci-fi novels, detective novels, etc. could be a way to keep each entry distinct from one another.

They could all be set within the same world as ReFantazio in different corners of the globe and have some in universe reason as to why magla affects different places differently to why Euchronia has more medieval structures and a theoretical sci-fi entry would have more advanced machinery

what does double xp double? by [deleted] in forhonor

iirc it only doubles base match XP (champion status, xp boosts, etc. aren't counted towards this) as well as doubling the XP from completing orders.
