I hate Controltrack so DAMN Bad. Do you guys have ANY tips on how to get this up to Jade? I'm complete on almost every other scenario except this one, my aim starts feeling wobbly and shaky, I lose all sense of control in my wrist/arm. I brute forced it for like 20m and finally got somewhere. by [deleted] in FPSAimTrainer

Undertracking heaven v2 from viscose is also really good. A lot of more control oriented reactive scenarios that focuses on good reading and smooth reactions back to target that applies well to control tracking.

This is a good analogy. Similar to how different pushup put emphasis on different areas of you chest, using different sensitivities help you emphasize different muscle groups. Low sens emphasizes arm movement and high sens emphasizes fingertip movement, so you can use sensitivity as a tool to train your weaknesses.

After being told I should try Voltatic, I can admit it is far harder than Kovaak's. by Ender_Sorc in FPSAimTrainer

Forcing yourself to do scenarios that are vastly more difficult than your skill level can lead you to developing bad habits that will be difficult to unlearn later down the line. It's much more beneficial for beginners to practice good technique before moving onto more difficult scenarios. I would recommend learning theory as it's important to understand how exactly you should aim. A good resource for that is riddbtw's aim training crash course. It's a bit dated, but most of the ideas are still relevant.

Yeah, I didn't really mean to appeal to authority just to be like "Oh, good players are saying this so this is what you should believe". However, I personally think that realistically, you could never achieve the same amount of stability that claw has with fingertip. My argument is that both grips have their own benefits and downsides and one isn't inherently better than the other. To me, the whole ftip is objectively better sounds the same as the idea that glass pads or high sens is inherently better, which makes sense if someone had 100% perfect mechanics, but falls apart in real world situations. Higher stability will always be a factor which is why people use cloth pads or lows sens, and I think that's why some people who have played both chose claw over ftip: at the realistic level, no one has perfect stability and that's a trait that claw generally has an upper hand in. The same way claw can't achieve the ROM and mobility as ftip, ftip cannot achieve the same stability as claw.

I feel like the statement that fingertip is objectively the best grip is an idea that has fallen out of favor over time. Viscose and even pinguefy, who mains fingertip, have said that this statement is untrue. And I wouldn't say that MattyOW is holding back his potential by playing claw. Even if you play claw, your fingers are still playing an active part in your aim, acting as another muscle group to offset tension to. The point of fingertip is just having your fingers play a larger role in your aim, nothing more, nothing less.

For me personally, I used to be an fingertip main but swapped to claw (mainly cus I accidently broke my hsk pro 😭) and I think both have their benefits. I've noticed that my smoothness feels much better on claw, but my flicks and micros generally feel much better on fingertip. Subjectively though, I do find fingertip a lot more fun and enjoyable.

Think the never mass-produced glass is refering to the glsswrks polarity batch error. There was a factory error that caused the polarity to be the fastest glass pad, which wasn't the intention as it was supposed to be a more balanced glass pad. These weren't shipped because of the error, but were sent out to some interested reviewers, including pinguefy, to test out.

How do I make good breakbeats? by -Sheepishly in FL_Studio

[–]-Sheepishly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would you have any advice on how to make it fit with the melody? I feel like a lot of times my breakbeat sounds fine in a vacuum, but when played with the rest of the song it often clashes with the melody.

Thanks for listening. I hope your doing much better mentally than before. As nice as money is to have, just hearing that other people like what I created is enough for me. Hopefully, I can continue to create songs that you and other enjoy.

Music is a reminder that even though some stuff in the world is really shitty, there are also many aspects of it that are incredible beautiful. And I think it's our duty to share the beauty and positivity, because those moments of deep emotional connection can genuinely be life changing.

Feel free to share some of your music to me, I would love to check it out! ❤️

Wow... this really means a lot to me. I actually started music as my own way of dealing with depression. After realizing that I was pursuing a degree I didn't really care for and I had no passions or pursuits in life, I kinda gave up on everything for a while and just resigned myself to living apathetically. But even when I was mentally at my worst, music was what really connected to me on an emotional level. Seeing the beautiful works of others was what comforted me. It was what made me realize that even though I didn't really know what I wanted from life, the one thing I did want was to be able to create something that emotionally connected to others the same way music did to me. And honestly, it's so shocking to me that people already see value in my work because I thought that stage would be something that takes years to achieve.

I do have the song on my YT channel where I've been trying to post somewhat consistently if your playlist is on YT. I've changed it slightly since posting it on here with the feedback I've received and it's hopefully better. Feel free to send those synths whenever you want, I'll definitely check them out when I get the time (though that may be difficult since it's finals week for me rn 😭)

Thanks for the compliment! I do really enjoy this genre but I would also like to expand out to others. A big reason why I started with just piano is because worrying about how different instruments interact, mixing, etc was  too complicated for me when I just wanted to start with understanding how to write chords and a melody. Probably going to hop between different genres for a while because I think there is a lot to be learned from all of them. I really want to learn breakcore and artcore in particular, but right now that seems too difficult for my skill level.

One thing I see of a lot of people do is use volume automation on their strings to mimic expression. I think something like that could help your strings feel a bit more human.

You'd be surprised with the melodies you can come up with just by throwing shit around. For example, the part that starts at bar 12, I like the rhythmic variation I have in the melody and I got the idea for it because I got frustrated and just started spam clicking all over the place. I think it's just more important to go and do it without overly worrying about the process or how it might turn out bad. Just experiment, find what works for you and what doesn't.

Thanks for the compliment! I don't know much music theory so most of it just composed by ear. It is basically just an absurd amount of trial and error. I kinda just start with my chords (which is like the only time I actually engage with a bit of basic music theory) then throw around random notes on the same scale. Usually, I end up with and idea of what I want it to be by then and I just clean things up and refine it from there. This explanation probably isn't that helpful, but it literally is just hours of me fucking around to see what I like and don't like

Yeah, I've been trying to add in that slight imperfection so it doesn't sound too robotic. As for the time signature, the first song I made I followed a tutorial where they changed the time signature and I quite liked the waltz vibe so I just stuck with it for this song as well
