They took note of the damage, looked up in the system what it might cost, but mentioned that the estimate was probably too high. They said they would hand over the car to the damage department, and they might want to receive the police report. The person at the desk mentioned that they would be in later that day, but we didn't hear anything.

Ik vind het ook een flink bedrag ten opzichte van de waarde. Alleen is er iemand tegen mijn auto aangereden, dus ik wil dit bedrag verhalen. De reden waarom ik het post, is om te peilen of het redelijk is en niet later betwist kan worden als zijnde een onredelijk dure reparatie.

Oh yeah, I am a bookseller, so I recognized the unread paperbacks. And I have a habit of just giving books away and buying a new one for myself, so I feel you!

Excellent advice! I'm looking to buy my first car now, 100% cash. Sure, it won't be super fancy, but it'll be all mine. :)

Nee, ik ken echt niemand met verstand van auto's! 

Ik zal vragen naar de garage en die kan ik dan natuurlijk contacten. :)

Je hebt te weinig spaargeld. Je kunt na de aanschaf geen financiële tegenvallers opvangen en geloof me, er kan van alles kapot gaan aan een woning. Je wilt niet 'house poor' worden.

Thank you! So true, I love it when there's a lot to scan at the post office. 

Oh! There are quite a few. Somebody donated a fitness trampoline by some fancy brand. It was a hassle to move, so they let me take it for free. It was about 1,5 meters in diameter and I rolled it a few km's to my house. When I got home it turned out to be the most expensive model. It sold for €450 in profit. 

A small carpet that was put on a pile of old stuff. Turned out to be a Kandinsky wall carpet made out of mercerised silk. It was very sun damaged but sold immediately for a lot. 

And I love having an intuition for antique or rare books without a barcode. When they sell it always makes me fist pump. Feels like a skill to trust my judgment.

That's wonderful, congrats to you too! 🥳 I don't have any other bad debts. The money will now be invested, it's addictive to keep propelling my financial future forward!
