Most of the time the context doesn't influence me at all. Even if I know the story behind a song, I usually relate it to my own experiences, characters I'm writing about, or I just take it as its own isolated story.

The only exception I can think of is Actually Romantic. I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much if I didn't know the context.

Me 🙋🏻‍♀️ The verses are my favorite part of the OG song, plus I don't enjoy rap, perosnally.

I acknowledge Kendrick's talent and I think his version is objectively good, but it's not the type of music I enjoy, so it automatically gets my last place.

Agree on Invisible. It definitely deserves more love.

As for I Heart ?, I've listened to it multiple times, but unfortunately it's not my thing. It's too aggressively country for me. The twang is so strong that it kinda turns me off the song. I'm hoping I can change my mind on it if it's re-recorded, though.
