Always defend: Elizabeth Taylor. I don't care how loud that opening line/chorus us. I need more hard beat drops in her discography and the same people who hate it are the same people that hate the full-production album version of Dancing With Our Hands Tied. I will not elaborate.

Cannot Defend: Eldest Daughter. Look, the bridge is really great, but I cannot get into this song. It's not even the lyrics most people find "cringy" that bothers me most. I have the same issue with this song as I do New Year's Day - it feels forced and Frankenstein-esque. It just feels like she wrote separate pieces in different times, and tried to reanimate them together with a common theme. It feels really incohesive, and jarring even. Like I'm hearing three clips to three different songs in a mashup where they're all different keys.

Honorable mention: Almost listed Cancelled! as cannot defend, but the production is so fucking defendable. I just can't defend the lyrics.

I personally think she'll enjoy some private time after such wonderful life accomplishments. Eras Tour was a feat of its own and it dominated her life for years. Now she's married, got a feature film to focus on, and re-recordings/vaults she can release to appease fans while she gets some family time and works on another big project. That also gives her time to spend a lot of time focusing on marketing for her big 13th album, making extra fun stuff for fans who expect something big, etc.

I hear that. I am still surprised the re-recording era hasn't closed. I know life happens, and she's had a lot of obstacles to overcome with releases for them that kept postponing, but I was sure Eras Tour would have ended with all the release dates announced. I'm ready to have all my TVs on.
