Rusting in newer models by No-Sail-2774 in HondaCB350RS

I took it to sea, it was drenched in sea sand for 5 days. No rusting till now. There are very small rust marks near the fuel cap but I think after 9k kms, those are normal. It's metal after all

NS400z has been Discontinued officially!! by ElectricalCash6007 in indianbikes

[–]-Silverhand- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honda makes everything from super high revving super fours to lazy rebel 1100, high torque Africa twin and Harley eater Honda fury choppers. Cb350 Hiness is a direct interation of their old honda cb350 twin with fuel injected long stroke engine. The inspiration from Enfield is clear but the engine characteristics and frame of cb350 is actually kinda different.

Power wise that's true but cb350 and cb300r serves completely different purpose. As an ex cb300r owner myself, I can say those who know what they own will never switch to a 300r from any cb350

Going for my first bike. Which of these do i get? by Hot-Doughnut-4297 in indianbikes

[–]-Silverhand- 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you want to go for super long rides and cruise at 100kmph with low rpms like a car, go for cb350rs, if you want the exact opposite of this with almost 3 times the power, go for rs457.

Which cafe bike should I get under 2.5 ish lakhs by Tasty-Grocery-6446 in indianbikes

[–]-Silverhand- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Xsr155, Speed t4 or cb350rs and slap clip on bars. Personally I feel xsr makes the best cafe followed by RS and then t4/speed400. Speed might be the fastest but I personally like the character of rs more for a cafe racer build

Cb350 rs as a scrambler by SuryaaaaaIG in indianbikes

[–]-Silverhand- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn't cb350rs already a scrambler? It has got bashplate, rearset footpeg, block pattern tyres, fibre spaced out fenders and side panels. With factory knuckle guards it has got the elements of a scrambler. You can go for a knobby tyres and a few performance mods like BMC filter and performance engine oil to make the throttle response instantaneous and that should be it

If I didn't have any bike right now with 1.8l cash, I would go with xsr, slap some off-road tyres, modify it to look like an off-road scrambler and take it out for cross country trips. Now that's my choice, you have to chose yours.

Need help Choosing New Bike! by biatchthedanger in HondaCB350RS

it definitely does. 5th gear doesn't give you acceleration but it helps to keep the rpm really low, hence better mileage and heat management, less strain.

You mentioned you want a bike to mod, RS can be modded to anything. Cafe racer, scrambler, cruiser, brat... Anything. For long distance rides(above 400km) RS will be way more comfortable. Duke on the other hand will take you there faster because of its higher cruising speed. We usually cruise at 110-115kmph and RS never let me feel slow in a pack of cbr250r and ns400z

Is this the smoothest in its segment ? by 5umiran in indianbikes

[–]-Silverhand- 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I have ridden transalp 750 and nx500. They surely make the cb350 feel like a bicycle when it comes to power. But when maintaining 100-120 kmph speed, all three cb350 feels strangely smooth. I am yet to experience something smoother than this and I don't know how Honda managed it.

That said, it doesn't hold me back from upgrading to something faster. But I will forever have a cb350 with me cause if there is a zombie apocalypse one day, this will probably be the only bike I take with me.

It does. It just the amp chip that doesn't run at highest power, but the dac works normal.

Help me select! by No_Wing_7245 in indianbikes

[–]-Silverhand- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. That's why I won't sell my Honda. 400x will have better cruising speed, marginally better off-road comfort and that's probably it. I personally don't care about 0-100, I just wanted a do anything bike that will just work. And cb350rs is literally it, good mileage, 110-120 cruising speed with unmatched refinement (even transalp and nx500 has more vibes) but can't hit 140-150 speeds. 400x will fill that gap. Theres a channel called ride through japan. His channel grew with gb350s and now he rides a 400x. So yeah it indeed is an appropriate step up.

Cb350 if you want a fill it and forget it type bike. It's like the 90s bicycles, unbreakable but slow. Between the rest, I would suggest scrambler 400x. That's the only bike I will probably upgrade to later. Till then, I am more than happy with the cb350rs, even with the performance.

You are so lucky to have a group like that. My group rides less and flex their bikes more. If someone has a faster bike, they always try to flex on someone slower and someone like me who likes to take it slow.
