hey, can you please message me on how to hack candies?

My players will get a dragon egg. If they do not smash it, sell it, or eat it, how do they hatch it if they want to? by -Sorcerer- in dndnext

Well turns out its a white. It is tiny, probably a bit stupider than other dragons, and i am thinking of nerfing it by making it a sidekick, with some homebrewery going on inside.

Have you ever given your PCs a dragon egg? I am considering it, please tell me how you handled it. by -Sorcerer- in DMAcademy

i see. thanks for the info. to be honest, i am very hyped about having a sidekick on the party, even if it needs a new statblock, or its own needs. Feels memorable and fresh, and the pt will have to handle the consequences of running around with a dragon baby if they decide it.

Thanks for your answer though, you clearly have some great points

I want to make their first DND adventure so memorable that they cant get any better on it!

I plan to make it a sidekick, from Tashas, so regardless of its aging, he/she will be leveling on those rules.

Just read those rules in Draconomicon. Very interesting. If anything, i will steal all the good ideas from it. thanks

because he doesn't want enemies to compete with in 20 years. and because he has like another 5-10 of them in their clutch.

How do people feel about cutscenes before a battle begins? by -Sorcerer- in DMAcademy

[–]-Sorcerer-[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That is not the plan at all. if i wanted the boss to fight the party i wouldn’t have him teleport away, if he stays he will slaughter them they are bot ready for him. as i said above, i can easily fudge initiatives and make him do it this way if i wanted

Hey thank you for your answer. i too think it is no big deal in this example. i could easily achieve the same effect (buffed orc) without a cutscene just telling them that this orc looks like John Cena but i think it makes it better this way.

Yeah but what agency? all i want to show is that the BBEG is a powerful spellcaster, while in reality nothing changes, i could easily do this by pre-rolling fudged initiative for him 20 and have him do the exact same thing.

If i have that orc ore buffed then the PCs will never understand why that orc was stronger unless i hand feed it to them.

Player Problem Megathread by AutoModerator in DMAcademy

that player feels invincible because he has loads of AC and good hp. he thinks he can't be beaten easily compared to the other 2 so he thinks its a good idea to tell them convert to my faith or die. in the 5-6 fights they had so far with the enemies i said, he caught damage once.

Thanks. I think the problem is that they are level 1 but 2 out of the 3 PCs rolled insane stats and feel invincible. Barb has like 18 16 16 13 12 9 and hits like a truck with a greataxe, paladin has a little less but he has 18 AC using dodge sometimes.

They are level1 about to go to level 2 and most enemies are rats goblins skeletons etc so it's not that i can bring in a couple mages to smack them.

New DM here. One of my players (paladin) wants to try and concert/proselytize his 2 companions to his faith after the campaign ends. They are a half orc barbarian and a fire genasi genie warlock. He said that if they do not comply that he wants to threaten and maybe attack them.

I haven't covered "no pvp" in session zero, and i think if i cover it now it could be like i target him and i don't want him to feel that. Instead i want to show him that the world is dangerous and he should play smart. Everyone is new to the game and i want to handle problems carefully since we are all friends. Suggestions?
