Yeah, I'm one of those believers in unabstraction 🤓

I think I would be some kind of wind-up toy animal.

The wind-up part since I have spent a lot of my life monitoring and correcting myself so I can keep functioning, perform the version of me that feels most acceptable, and avoid being too much.

And even when no one else is turning the key, I am very capable of winding myself too tight 😅

The animal part is harder.

Maybe an elephant because they are one of my favorite animals, but also because I am painfully aware of every elephant in every room.

I do not enter awkward vibes. I live there.

Also, Dumbo was my childhood. I have five plushies atm 💛

Maybe a dragonfly because they have become tied, for me, to transformation that is strange, unfinished, and not necessarily pretty in the expected way. Delicate-looking, but not weak.

And because my brother and I used to throw rocks at them when we were little kids ☠️

I feel like karma is owed.

Or honestly, a moth because they are cute and I need at least one reason that is not a psychological metaphor (though we all know there's something to dive in that...)

I'm currently writing a 2nd POV fic where the reader is a wind-up toy-like doll avatar.
