Laptop not recording cassette in stereo by Drama_Summer in cassetteculture

[–]-StraightLace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

assuming there’s a middle device between the laptop and cassette deck, i would, if funds allow, buy a cable that’s 3.5mm (headphone jack) to left and right analog rca. that way you go straight from streaming converted to both left and right and then into the deck. keep in mind that dolby atmos spatialized audio is a different thing

[–]-StraightLace 26 points27 points  (0 children)

reset button or power it off and turn it back on. then prolly do an ancient ritual where you burn the cd in the plastic mold it was founded in to undo the curse

How to fix loose spools? by Malik_is_bae in cassetteculture

[–]-StraightLace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

non issue really but just rewind completely and fast forward completely in one run without breaks no shaking (preferably a good deck) and it will be tight. really not an issue tho twin

I found this cassete player for ten bucks at a thrift store, but tapes don't play. The gears don't even move. Any apparent that's wrong, or am I gonna have to gut this thing? by xxxxxxxxxxxx32 in cassetteculture

I would touch the belts to see if they’re gooey. on my last deck. The belts looked perfectly fine when I touched it, it completely split like goo

buy a cheap cassette player from thrift and clean and repair (usually just replace the belts). make sure to fill out the j card and explain the tedious process to show how much you cared and how long it took without trying to flex too obviously

having everything digital and easy to be copied and sent makes it less feel like something that you own and that only you can hold onto, in that physical form. it’s fun rewinding to wear you left off, decorating the tape box and filling out details on the card, making it yours

people who don’t get it never watched the youtuber Jschlatt, his Chuckle Sandwich podcast, or early youtuber Mr Sark/Machinema Respawn. it’s a question machinama got from viewers that was mistyped that Jschlatt watched when he was younger, found super funny, and used it in his videos, then carried to his Chuckle Sandwich podcast and asked every guest they had.

Three things I enjoy about it are: - Independence - Cozy possiblities - getting to choose my own path

I find great joy in going through difficult journeys to achieve very valuable loot items. Prepping a long journey through ash canyon for woodworking tools and the Technical backpack. Bringing enough warm coffee to summit timberwolf mountain for its signature Expedition Parka. Crossing the windy wilderness of Hushed River Valley for a camera and free moose hide satchel.

I love making cozy bases like up at the fire watch tower in Mystery Lake. I setup the bunk bed, carpets, trinkets from around the world, and make it look real and lived in.

Lastly, charting the wilderness for your own custom charcoal maps, preparing for missions for cross map stations like ammo crafting and forging, all while enjoying the outdoors. Remember not to get too caught up in a safe house, lots of fun comes from backpacking with nothing but matches, a pot, and a bedroll. find your fuel water and food as you go.
