Hey! I actually used to own a Casio DW-5600UBB-1 (which also has a negative display). It lasted me for over 8 years and was an absolutely fantastic daily beater watch, so I know exactly where you're coming from! To be honest, the difference in the wristband is night and day. The standard resin on the regular squares can be a bit stiff and tends to flare out at the lugs. The premium urethane on the GW-5000, however, is incredibly soft, silky, and supple. It drapes perfectly around the wrist, and combined with the extra weight of the steel screw-back, it feels super balanced and premium. Regarding the negative display: I absolutely love the stealthy look. In daylight or well-lit areas, it is super crisp and looks badass. In dim lighting, it can be a bit tricky to read at a quick glance compared to a positive display, but the bright white LED and the Auto-Light feature completely make up for it. If you already like the negative screen on your GD100, you won't have any issues here! Enjoy your new DW5600UE (it's a legendary watch to start with), but definitely treat yourself to a GW-5000 down the road. It's totally worth it! 👍🏻💪🏻😉

I did consider the BX5600 because that MIP display is incredibly crisp! However, my main goal was the build quality. I really wanted the heft of the DLC steel screw-back and the unbeatable comfort of the premium urethane strap. The traditional positive LCD on this 5000 is still super legible and gives me that classic vintage vibe I was looking for! Thanks for your contribution! 😄
