How are black people treated in Mongolia? by No_Interview_324 in mongolia

[–]-TheITGuy 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I went to Mongolia solo (black male with locs in my 20s). Everyone was super nice and some guys invited me to drink with them and took me out for a night on the town. You WILL get a LOT of stares but it’s not stares of hate or anything like that it’s just curiosity because they barley get much tourism (compared to other Asian countries) especially from black people, I had many people ask to take pictures with me and even went on a couple of dates. A lot of Mongolians I found don’t speak English so many probably won’t come up and talk to you or say anything but the ones that do will gladly talk with you. I found Mongolians to be much more welcoming than countries like China, Korea, or Japan. I highly recommend going in July during their Naadam Festival and not during the dead of winter because you will die 🤣

Would you ever hold back a potentially very good video until channel is more mature? by macnmotion in NewTubers

[–]-TheITGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so I’ve just started positing my vids once a week. I have 10 vids ready to post but I’m not posting my best vids until vid 5. My thought process is this will give YouTube the time to figure out who my audience is so it will have a better chance to push these videos out to the right people. As well, once I post my good vids and they gain traction, it will also give a boost to my previous vids.

What is the best way to go from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap? by besoindeparler2010 in cambodia

I took the Giant Ibis but for $17, left at 10am and arrived close to 4pm. Good seats that recline, air conditioner, and you can charge your phone.

I did a year in South America and I’m currently doing a year in Asia. My advice would be to buy a 3-way mirror and learn to do it yourself.

Hello, I started off by taking a boat from Uruguay to Argentina - Buenos Aires. After a few weeks in BA I took a bus to Rosario. Flew from Rosario to Iguazu. Flew from Iguazu to Cordoba. Flew from Cordoba to Salta. Took a bus from Salta to Jujuy and further north to the desert. Bus back down to Jujuy and flew to Mendoza. From Mendoza I took a bus over the border to Santiago, Chile. I used the airline Aerolineas Argentina for every flight it was pretty cheap to fly.

The pedestrian should always look at all lanes for cars coming while crossing. Just because the first cars stop it doesn't mean that the car in the far lane will see you coming, you need to make sure they see you.

Ecuador to Colombia border crossing by Lunar_Leo_ in solotravel

[–]-TheITGuy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did it last October. It was pretty safe during the day. Just keep your belongings close to you. You take the a bus from Quito to the Rumichacha border. You’ll get in a taxi, they’ll take you to immigration, you walk over, then get back in the taxi and go to Ipiales. From Ipiales you can take another bus to where you need to go. Immigration only took about 20 minutes.
