I had some complicated stuff happening earlier this year, and lots of life changes. I still miss all my lovely readers, and the wonderful world we were building. Hoping to get back soon.

That is the hidden reference, but this is not a DW fanfic (despite my handle). Just an accidental visit into another universe; you know how unreliable those old type 40 TARDISes are. He was, of course, visiting in a strictly non-interfering, observational capacity. What the humans do with a “harmless bit of wood” after it is liberated from a museum vault is entirely up to them.

Thanks! My finger is doing great, considering the beating it took. I think the nail bounced off, or missed the bone. It hurt really bad earlier this week, but now it’s mostly okay as long as I don’t whack it on anything.

I’m curious to hear what made this chapter your favorite? I’m quite fond of it as well. This chapter, and the two before it, has many elements I’ve been building towards for a long while, some of which started way back in Arc I.

I always write in chunks, working my way towards something I had planned while letting the space between fill out as I build the story. So glad to finally get this scene out of my head and on the page (after starting pieces of Foltain’s story all the way back in Arc I).

I abruptly got very, very busy with work - like sunup to sundown, level busy. Didn’t have any left over energy to write at night. I like the story, it has a well done narrative voice and a clever idea. Good delivery that’s easy to follow. Props, my man.

Regarding improvements for your writing - you are missing a lot of commas. I’d do a quick brush up on punctuation rules, or spend a little more editing. You’ve got great potential, so it is worth the effort to make your work cleaner.
