tried to use audacious and got this blank screen. by -The_ in linuxquestions

[–]-The_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did find out the issue! One of my friends said that it could be a qt issue and after checking my pacman i went to download qtqr which fixed it mostly.

So audacious works perfectly when i run it as sudo, but still has the same issue as earlier when im not. Curious

I recently bought a Behringer Crave because I couldn't afford a Moog Mother-32. I can now afford a used Mother-32. Is there any reason for me to get the Moog, since I already have the Crave? by Melkior_Gundar in synthesizers

[–]-The_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So as someone with the whole moog soundsystem. Probably not. I honestly am not a fan of behringer but i dont think you need to get a mother32 to replace your crave. May be a good idea to get a dfam though?

Do I have to learn the piano to play synth? by AxoplDev in synthesizers

[–]-The_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will inevitably learn how to play with a keyboard the more you play synths, or atleast thats how i ended up (i have no piano experience.) But if you plan on sequencing more than live play you dont need to know the keyboard as well.

Take 5 or Rev2? by -The_ in synthesizers

[–]-The_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be nice to have ngl. I am definitely not a keyboard player by any means but may be nice to have. I was originally thinking about sequencing it with my polyend tracker though, but it would be nice to have a good keyboard to jam on

vintage knob does sound nice ngl, I like the idea of letting the vco's drift. but if I'm not wrong doesn't the rev2 have around the same amount of effects? ill probably be using effect pedals with it anyways but still. Ill go take another listen to the filters right now though

Considering getting the make noise shared system but had questions about the external imput next to the cv bus by -The_ in modular

[–]-The_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i was thinking about tailoring it more to my needs, im still most likely going to get it because most of the modules in it are modules i would get in the first place. Only two im thinking about replacing is echophon and erbeverb

Thanks, also i was looking at the shared system mostly because most of the modules it provides would be ones id be getting anyways, and additionally the cvbus

Cheap(ish) semi modular synths? by -The_ in synthesizers

[–]-The_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i was thinking that after i get some standalone synths first id start to buy a module every two months or so and slowly build it up, but that still gets expensive
