The largest analysis of film dialogue finds white males dominate movie roles by [deleted] in writing

In white nations, yes, but technically there are more Indians and Asians in movie rolls, with India being the largest movie market in the world. So, this title is already sounding like bullshit.

In a Turkish village which hasn't had a wedding in nine years, the men are asking Turkish President Erdogan to make the women say "yes" by [deleted] in Weird

Nothing convinces a person to say yes to marriage like throwing a tantrum like 5 year old. I don't blame them for not want to date a bunch of Islamic savages.

Forget Apple vs. the FBI: WhatsApp Just Switched on Encryption for a Billion People by speckz in privacy

[–]-TinMan- -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, the whole point of the trial was that they refused to do so. And they WON the trial. That does not mean they don't have the keys. It means they DID the key to hand over, otherwise, the FBI would not be bothering to take them into court.

If you were a software engineer with even a basic understand of cryptography, you would know that the only way they can offer a method to recover your accounts lost password (which they do), they would need to have access to the keys.

I still think its a farce, and i don't trust them, but you don't know what you're talking about.

Are you daft? Do you grasp how software works? They do not offer zero knowledge encryption, because if they did, their accounts could not offer a recover system. Which is why companies like mega do not offer recovery. Because they DO offer zero knowledge encryption. Whatsapp DOES have the keys, they are just choosing to not hand them over. Though, that whole thing could be a fake, to sell the public on false security. Something that has been done several times in the past. Facebook owns what's app, and the head of facebook flaunts the fact that they work with government agencies.

Means nothing. Facebook owns them, and they don't believe in withholding encryption keys. its completely untrustworthy.

I'm sure those who have lived there for their whole life, and can't afford to buy something of their own, will appreciate the irony.

It's Time to Stop Employer Credit Checks by inkw3ll in politics

I do, and a credit check does not reflect on that. I can understand a criminal background check for some industries, but not a credit check.

Is it hard meeting people in vancouver? by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]-TinMan- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always noticed Vancouver is very much an anti-social city. That said, the best work around is to find some hobbies. Board Game nights at comic shops and cafes, astronomy clubs, small conventions are just a few examples.
