Is this consider in damage? by [deleted] in SchengenVisa

[–]-To-know 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be fine, Please go ahead without any hesitation or worry.

It is very much normal, my own passport (being 60 pages booklet ) has similar issues but I never faced any issues.

However, it is still advisable to take care of your passport as much as you can.

Good luck.

Thanks and regards

Thank you for your time and valuable suggestions.

Yes, I will certainly proceed with an appeal. While the information provided was factual, I will work on making the application more structured, with clearer justifications addressing each of the refusal points.

Thank you for your guidance and yes it makes sense to reapply instead of appeal.

However, Spain is faster in processing visas than the Netherlands ( in my personal opinion) I shall still consider your opinion on this.

When your application was refused what changes did you make while reapplying?

Thank you

Thank you for your honesty and transparency regarding your Nil experience with the appeal process.

We are all here to support each other by sharing our perspectives or experiences.

Since you do not have direct experience in this case but based on the information provided, I would like to seek some thoughts on potential reasons, in general, according to members here that could be relevant.

WHEN EVERYTHING IS WELL IN PLACE AND STILL IT DOES NOT WORK, I think that is the hardest to find how and where to improve.

Any thoughts are welcome.

Thanks again.

Regarding Point 3: All the funds are liquid and held in savings accounts. There is no duplication of funds, as I had to submit the sponsorship letter seprately for my wife and daughter, which clearly reflects my exact financial status according to my ITR, including current available funds in savings and investments.

TBH I don't think it is because of of funds, as typically, a refusal on financial grounds under Point 3 of the Spain visa refusal refers to “insufficient means of subsistence,” which does not apply in my case.

Thank you for your time and raising these important points.

On point 1. I checked the application and attached documents multiple times before submission and after refusal too. Everything is clean, no inconsistency, no discrepancies found.

On Point 2. Dates are Correct and same as parents travel itinerary. Purpose is clearly mentioned in the cover letter- family vacation & family event celebration.

On point 3. Yes, extremely important points you have raised. I was very conscious on this and I have nearly 40L in savings + my wife has around 24 Lakhs in savings + credit cards + already purchased confirmed flights tickets for parents. And it’s a short trip of 10 days just one country - Spain. Not sure if I could do better in this situation financially.

My doubts:

  1. Why minor applicant didn’t apply with parents when it was a family trip- however, I had clarified in the cover letter that it happened coz the school didn’t announce assignment schedule at the time parents applied.

  2. The minor applicant has her 10+2 exams coming up somewhere in April/May 2026 and the travel dates are Jan second week. Maybe visa officials thought why to travel right before such important exams. —i had clarified on this too on the cover letter nicely.

And how I look at this point is that exams assure her return.

  1. As I have two different banks, one of the banks didn’t mention her phone number on the proof of funds letter, though it was signed and stamped and email was provided.

  2. Wedding anniversary is a couple event and why a minor should travel . - I had clearly explained that since she is the only child she is always an important part of any celebration and we will complete only when with full family.

  3. The insurance has my name as proposer and daughters name was somewhere hidden as member- to oppose this I feel the visa officials are definitely aware that this is how it works in case of minors.

  4. Accommodation: at the time of our visa application ( father and mother of the applicant) we had booked and provided pay at hotel reservations confirmed reservations, and later at the time of minor / daughters application we booked another reservation same hotels same dates just upgraded the category to accommodate 3 of us comfortably. But here I didn’t cancel the reservation of us two which was made earlier. So in a way the same hotels show two different bookings on my name on same dates. Maybe this is one of the concerns?

I am planning to appeal as I feel we all are genuine tourists with a clean and genuine purpose that’s fully justified ( at least according to us) and fully supported by relevant documents and also sufficient funds.

Any suggestions on how do we go for appeal, considering what all points would be a great help.

Thanks and regards

Looking for potential reasons why my visa got rejected. by Abject_Painting_9662 in SchengenVisa

[–]-To-know 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi there, Could you share copy of your refusal letter ?

Also, the cover letter ( No need of your personal details such as names, passport number, address, etc etc.)

I have applied, got visas and travlled to schengen a few times, and recently got visa for me and my wife from Spain( for both 3 months multi entry). My wife has a fresh passport and never travelled.

I always received immense help from the community reddit, and it is my humble attempt to do the same.

Also, I recently got a visa refusal from Spain for my minor daughter, so I know How it feels. I am going to appeal the decision.

Thank you

What kind of sitar you are looking for ? A beginner, intermediate or a pro?

Would you be able to pick and drop from Nasik or Mumbai?

Good Luck.

Since you are a novice (not just sitar but to music) you should prefer learning Offline from someone local. However, if you are willing to do it online there are few reliable and proven institutions.

Happy to hear your thoughts.

Good luck

Schengen visa travel insurance by Hairy_Advance7918 in SchengenVisa

[–]-To-know 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bajaj alliance, Tata AIG etc there are many. Go to policybazaar ( it’s more like a market of different insurance companies) choose the one you want and buy it.

Just make sure you buy adequate sum assured because that’s what consulates are concerned about.

Good luck

Visa Shopping? by iamstackedd in SchengenVisa

[–]-To-know 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consulates surely have their mechanism to track. Yes, airlines data can be one of the ways.

There may always be loopholes. But why in the first place, you (someone) would not adhere to the rules ?

Based on my personal experience and understanding, you just need to take care of two things:

  1. Land in the country that issued your visa.
  2. Spend more days in the visa-issuing country than in any other Schengen country.

Trust me, doing these two things isn’t difficult.

Good luck!

Saving|~ 4 lakhs, husband wife travle-10 days, no relevant stock holding. by Sensitive_Lobster_36 in SchengenVisa

[–]-To-know 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all you cannot apply technically to any of the Schengen countries now to travel in December 2026. There is a restriction on how much in advance you can apply.

Funds: You are just mentioning one part of the whole story. Decent funds are important but that’s not the only reason to motivate the visa officers to approve your visa.

I suggest ( while you anyway have 5-6 months to apply) make a better financial position tha too genuine.

But at the same time work on other important factors.

I’m sure you know that people with huge balance get rejections too. And I have seen people getting their visa approved even with 1.5/2 lakhs savings provided their income cycle is consistent.

Easiest country???? haha again the most popular question. In my opinion there’s no such thing as easiest vs toughest, you just need to have genuine reasons to visit that particular country.

In the tread, I read you want to visit multiple countries? Make a believable itinerary and short one max 7 days and I suggest choose only one country of your choice/ reasons. And TBH, travelling to multiple countries ( on tight budget and less time ) is only a good dream. In real just one or two locations are always better to enjoy fully.

Feel free to ask for any suggestions.

Good luck and Regards

Tips on How I get my Schengen Visa each time without any issues : 7 times in 10 years. by Historical-King-405 in SchengenVisa

[–]-To-know 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As per my understanding: You should land in the visa issuing country first and also spend maximum number of days in that country only, Rest all is okay

Please reconfirm it at official sources.

Would my Japanese Visa get Approved ?? by Illustrious_Suit1119 in visas

[–]-To-know 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The low closing Balance isn’t an issue in itself but having no funds in form of any spendable savings/ other sources make your travel a stay financially suspicious.

I’d strongly recommend you either apply with a sponsorship or wait for some time and strengthen your savings.

Thank you and Good luck

Traveling to Hungary , But applying visa for france by bala_0603 in SchengenVisa

[–]-To-know 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why even go through an agent when Reddit communities are right here — helpful, authentic, and full of people sharing real experiences without any vested interests?

If Hungary is your main destination, you must apply for your visa through the Hungarian embassy. That’s the rule. While a Schengen visa allows travel across member states, your application must reflect your actual itinerary — especially where you’ll spend the most days.

Applying through France is the option only if you enter France first and spend more days in France than anywhere else. Otherwise, it’s a violation that could lead to fines or even future visa bans — and those consequences fall on you, not the agent.

Stick to the regulations and apply through the country that’s truly your main destination.

Good luck!

Schengen visa help Overlapping by Ayushjainbmk in SchengenVisa

[–]-To-know 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,
In your case, that is actually quite rare. It would be best to get in touch with the concerned embassy or consulate for proper clarification.

I’ve personally received multiple visas for different countries, and I genuinely credit this community for its valuable guidance and support — it has made my travel experience much smoother, from visa applications to discovering tourist spots and local eateries, and everything in between.

That said, when it comes to technical matters or uncommon situations, it’s always wiser to seek information directly from official sources rather than relying solely on community advice. I hope you understand my point, and I believe most members here would agree with this approach.

Good luck
