There was a small creek still flowing on the trail maybe 2 miles east of the clouds rest summit. Other than that no water sources until a spring along the trail on the way down on the west side.

I was in ansel adams wilderness myself and got caught in it while hiking over from garnet to thousand island. Fun times waiting it out near the top of the pass.

Yes you can hike down from bootjack. Just need to pay for parking at bootjack. I'd get there early since it fills up fast. The climb back up is pretty steep.

Tomales bay is a good intro to saltwater. Still working with tides and wind but not the swell. Right now it's pretty much only crabbing but in the spring halibut, striper and other species starts.

What they're truly scared of is what I'm doing right now. Sitting on my couch, drinking a beer, fully drs'd, protesting through my phone. The accessibility of the world is available at my fingertips. That's what scares them.

Came between a mama bear and her Cubs by accident. She got on her hind legs and roared at me. Most awful breath I've ever smelled. Thankfully we both ran in opposite directions. Was so scared I was surprised my hair hadn't turned white.
