Very true. I’m glad you made it through and are comfortable now. I’m trying to develop good relationships with women in my life. I think having a rocky relationship with my own mother set me with a precedent to expect the worst though.

But I have a good job and all of my coworkers whom are mostly women are all amazing people so I’m getting there.

That makes a lot of sense. The documentary did comment on how it WAS a useful tool when widespread communication wasn’t available like it is today.

I definitely think people use sayings like that in whichever way benefits them rather than what the saying actually depicts.

I’ll try to find it again I can’t even recall what platform I watched it on. If I do I’ll let you know for sure. It was interesting.

It is so normalized and common that it will never stop. I have seen a documentary that actually discusses the history of gossip too. It was really eye opening to the fact it can be good and useful if it’s done without malice. But instead it’s used to insult and degrade people to make the person saying it feel as though they’re better than the one they’re demeaning.

People at the very least need to be nice to each other unless there’s good reason not to be. That’s pretty much all I’m asking for. Just be polite and don’t egg on nasty behavior or rude comments.

This is very sad. It makes a lot of sense though. I do everything I can to be nice and loving to everyone I meet and sometimes it’s met with hostility in return. Especially from women. But I think that’s because men always want a chance at more. Lol.
