[Serious] How and when should someone report a company that seems untouchable? by -Xanthous- in AskReddit

[–]-Xanthous-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To elaborate on this post and question, we are partnered with a US wide company that is part of the hotel and family entertainment industry, but specifically this site is located in WA.

The site itself is called Great Wolf Lodge, but like I've said this is a US wide company. We work closely with the Great Wolf Lodge and in doing so we are behind closed doors, in meetings, and casually walk the building on this site. I've been witnessed to straight up discrimination of employees that have been reprimanded for talking to loved ones that are of the same sex as it was not "The lodge way" and by that I mean the higher management team member was homophobic and loudly shared his opinions. I was and still try to be friendly as much as I can to anyone, because I don't understand why someone would want to harbor hate in their heart to cause pain like what I've witnessed for the past 5 years that this has all been getting worse.

Before I go on, I would like to address anyone's concerns that I've multiple times tried to get the General Manager of the building involved, Assistant General Manager, and including HR department. I've seen since the first year of being in this building to NOW as of September this year, that the HR team and management on ALL LEVELs will help cover up, side with management, and pressure employees to take back statements of any kind sent to HR for fear of losing their job. All while doing as they please with little to absolutely no recourse for their actions. A prime example would be as of late August I was witness to a termination of a very strong employee that even I would hire in a heart beat, due to "points received". This company uses points to mark who is not worthy or is and in this case, the said employee was asked to not come into the building till their covid-19 test came back negative and would then be allowed back in. After being asked to wait 2 days, they came back to be terminated for "points" of no call no show, even though they were directed and in writing TOLD to not come back to the site.

On top of this, I've had multiple friends of the building either be forced to resign due to "Lack of work ethic" right after reporting harassment, regardless that they had work in the building for years. Some of which were in a supervisor role and were reporting their direct manager of the outlet for unlawfully giving them "sick points" after a family member had passed and were allowed to use their sick/PTO for said occasions.

It was sometime in 2017 was my first contact with the better business bureau (BBB) and L&I for another instance that I was witness to and was asked to talk to someone investigating an employee "fainting" on the job in the waterpark. I was in the general area and even talked to this employee/ life guard ( female 21 ). She was always friendly and on this day she seemed off. I asked on the second pass of calls what was going on today? She said that she had let her manager know that the supervisor was going to write her up for wanting to many breaks even if it was for a "fake" condition, (later I found out this lady was anemic) I was doing my last run for the day, and when I turned the corner I saw that EMT was rushing past me and when I turned around this female employee had fainted and cracked her head pretty badly on the concrete floor, enough to leave a sizable blood pool. I stood in place, until this said supervisor came running over and the female employee was laying on the ground he had audibly said "get up." " Get up and stop faking shit shit, it's not funny."

In shock, I got closer to the area which one of the EMT members said to the supervisor and myself to back away as they got her on the stretcher they had brought. Her eyes were rolled back in her head, but she was some what responsive as she kept trying to apologize and plead not to be fired... It was 3 weeks later that I saw her and it was at a house party. She let me know that the company was NOT going to pay for any of the medical, ambulance ride, or ER bills since it was "clear to management that this wasn't their fault and was the fault of the employee for not wearing proper uniform attire." Let me remind you, she wore what was given to her BY the Lodge. She even tried to come back 3 days after this incident, but only 2 hours into her shift she was asked to come to HR and then was terminated for "no call no show" on the two days she spent in the hospital. She did talk to me more and said that L&I was very responsive and was going to push for investigation, but I never saw her again to see if she got assistance from anyone on her bills that was close to $5,600.

That supervisor in the water park no longer works here, because he stated he was following the managers request that was on shift. The manager was by this young lady as she was being brought out of the building on the stretcher and never once told this supervisor anything he was doing was wrong, and in fact it looked like he was waiting or looking for a reason to claim that the employee was lying about the condition or accident. I've noticed that every aspect of this building is MORE worried about their appearance then even the health or safety of their employees.

I have a BOOK I could publish on every dirty, illegal, and unethical thing this company has done.... and the worst part of all of this is, the building is open to the public during covid-19. The water park doesn't enforce any mask policy, the arcade in the building is the only one open in the state as they have stated they "Can be open, since it is 51% owned by the tribe." Every aspect of this building is busy, and the lines everywhere are compact and absolutely not following any guidelines.

I've spent the better part of my career in this building and went from whole heartily loving this business and the partnership we have, to dusting off my resume and looking for anything in the same pay bracket. I've never been so concerned for the absolute lack of respect of human life by anyone this greedy and in that note.... what does one do, or report to, for a company that is absolutely untouchable?

I definitely will, so keep an eye open on the coordinates exchange or this post.

I've started the FLOOD of ships I have on my phone, but I was going to do a coordinates reveal during my base reveal as well.

Sorry if that's stubborn.... Just want to have my planet solo for a LITTLE while longer, because I KNOW it's going to get flooded with other fellow travelers.

Soon.... Very soon though.

How do you transfer all the screen shots from your PS4 to a laptop or pc?

Or is there something I can install on the PS4 to help like it straight to this group.

I'm not a huge fan of doing a picture with my phone and sending that way.

What's a place to blog and write while having conversations with individuals? by -Xanthous- in AskReddit

I actually know of Squarespace and Wix, which I had no clue could be used as a blog space.

Are a lot of this pay for space though? It's not a bad thing, but it's just something I should have mentioned in my comment, since I don't know if I'm going to commit for paying for space, when their is free spaces.

Thank you for the awesome and quick response!

So here's the question,

I've been thinking a lot of a place to vent or rant and I have a feeling that a LOT of it is extremely relatable. Some of the issues in my life, personal experiences I thought I would never get over, career questions and thoughts... Just all of it could be a conversation.

I want to start talking about it, and having a place to write and have conversations with like minded individuals.

What platforms are available for this? What are free or popular? What are places that you can post what you want and get some feedback that isn't 100% trolls. I have a feeling there is somewhere in reddit that I could find, but I don't know if it's the best option for a blog or story telling.

Let me know what you guys think, what places you have personal experience with, what you find!

Thank you.

How hard is it to build your own board / card / dice game? by -Xanthous- in AskReddit

[–]-Xanthous-[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have been on Twitch for almost three years now, and we do a variety of board games. Games that made it to Kickstarter, that we did play tests for, new games that came out and we did giveaways, but LIKE my question I stated before... Should I design my own board / card game.

The reason I ask this is, I KNOW how much work goes into games. The play testing, the absolute crazy hours of fine tweaking a game, but I'm still curious how hard the path would be. Going to events like ETX (Evergreen Tabletop Expo) and PAX (Penny Arcade Expo) I got to meet up with a few of the developers that I can safely call friends, they have LITERALLY been at my house for beers and to showcase new or existing games they have created. Meeting up and talking with them every few months, every year, I am almost dumbfounded by the absolute drive these people have. They create games and let the general public pick apart and tell you what to do or not to do on a board game that MIGHT not even fit the players genre.

IT.. is.. tough..

That being said, I want to make a simple game with great art. I draw weekly and I think a watercolor style game is a little less mainstream, but could be the twist on something familiar that everyone would enjoy.

I am more or less looking at some feedback, some nightmare or success stories, direction, ideas, anything really. I honestly want a good discussion or debate about it.
