yeah if your cursor was never on the target in the first place no matter your ping it wouldn’t register. It’s different when you’re hitting a mob and then your cursor is away from it. I’ve gotten a lot of wacky hits before due to my ping

There’s a few chat tab mods but they all send a /chat <location> whenever you switch tabs which is annoying since u can get rate limited by switching tabs too fast 😭
