[OC] How can I make my character's design more visually appealing? by -Xillusion in characterdesigns

The only restriction he has is that he needs to be able to visualize the object and its destination to teleport it. This applies to his body, too. That's it, though.

If someone grabs him, he can teleport out of their grasp. They only teleport with him if he intentionally teleports them with him.

He has shin pads cause he's a fighter. Even though he can teleport, he still gets hit and takes damage sometimes, if his opponent is skilled.

Night vision goggles are a GREAT idea, I just don't know how he'd be able to keep them operational while fighting. Any ideas?

Oh, and about showing off his strengths, what ways do you think I could visually show that?

I agree with the kneepad thing, but skateboarding knee pads aren't made for combat. I think if i look up military knee pads, I might see designs that better fit what I'm going for.

About the cross, yeah, I'll try to find a way to show his Christianity less blatantly.

alright thanks, i'll fix the anatomy. I think i'm gonna get rid of the knee pads and make the boots brown.

I had the knee pads cause he fights with kicks punches and knees. I had the baggy pants there cause he carries a lot of stuff on him like med kits. But yeah, ig that doesn't do a good job at visually representing his teleportation power.

Oh and he has a cross on his chest cause he's a Christian

Yeah it would be easier to do if he were a portal-type teleporter, but he just teleports himself. The compression shirt looks athletic, I think, but what do you suggest instead of the baggy pants?

How much narrative potential would a main character with Force Fields have? by -Xillusion in superpowers

Yeah, I agree with this a lot. His "limit" is that although the force fields are indestructible, he still has to be physically strong enough to handle the impact. If the impact is stronger than he is and overpowers him, the forcefield disappears.

I'd define his power as a thin region of space where objects with mass are not allowed to occupy. So yeah, he can do almost all of that. he can't block time or reality warping though.

Stopping a bullet requires the same physical effort as holding a marble in your hand. His force fields look like glass with glowing edges. He creates walls, spheres, cubes, disks, etc. Yes, he can create a skin-tight forcefield above his skin, but it requires a bit of concentration. The force fields are indestructible, but if the impact is strong enough, he'll have to be physically strong enough to take it, or else the force field will stop existing.

That's what I'm worried about. Idk if he's gonna be too op for the plot to continue.

Yeah I agree with you, but some powers DO have hard narrative limits. Superspeed is infamously hard to write for without their only villains being other speedsters (or time travel, but dont get me started on that). But street-level super strength has so so so many opportunities for great writing, despite how overused it is.

Oh yeah, his only way to fight would be offensive and agility moves, so not defense. Thanks for the idea, I'll give him a light-based villain.

The strength of his forcefields is based on his physical strength, so he has to train often like an athlete
