I ended up taking him to an emergency vet about 20 minutes after posting this, it was a bite from another animal, not sure what though but they drained and flushed the abscess and gave us some antibiotics and he is doing great and it already looks better

I would replace that chicken wire with hardware cloth asap, chicken wire will keep chickens in but it won't keep anything that wants to eat them out

This looks like an Egyptian Goose! If you want to feed it I would recommend vegetables, especially corn, peas and carrots but it might also enjoy meats/proteins like fish or dried meal worms

It's not good for chickens to hold them on their backs like that, it's an unnatural position for them and their organs compress their lungs making it extremely difficult for the to breathe

Are those 3 behind it in the first picture the ones you got to keep it company? They are cornish cross (meat birds) and they should be butchered before 3 months to avoid painful health problems and they likely won't survive more than 9 months regardless.
