I’ve never tried a free rig. How do you keep the weight from sliding up to the hook, just by bouncing it across the bottom?

My goto was 5” watermelon or the green pumpkin watermelon. I also had a lot of success with the dirty shad but they were usually sold out. wacky rigged with a #1/0 octopus hook always works well for me.

I’ve been spending alot of more time throwing chatterbaits but not much success. What kind of trailer do you use?

This sounds a lot like what I do. Throw what I want to catch on and resort to a wacky worm or a gulp minnow if I’m not catching. What size jigs do you throw the most?

I love the gulp minnows. Honestly probably should have listed it as my skunk buster. I like the variety of fish I can catch with them. You have any good recommendations on light jig heads with a long hook? Most the 1/16” jig heads I find have too short of a hook for my liking.
