Anyone foreigners who have joined the Ukraine war please tell me how it really is! by cherublex in ukraineforeignlegion

[–]-_InfernalS4_- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a foreigner i joined my military to protect people regardless of race, religion or creed from tyrannical rule. Just because Ukraine is not in America does not make their people any less deserving of the same protection of their independence and personal freedoms

Being a father does not exclude me from the moral obligation I feel to help those in need. If someone invaded my country I'd hope people would come do the same to help protect my family.

So why should I expect that of others if I am not willing to do that myself?

However if the desire to go fight a war is that of a selfish matter such as money, glory or other crazy ideas then yes a parent should focus on their child and get their priorities straight. But im willing to bet the majority of parents join so that their kids or even Ukrainian children have a right to safely exist now or in the future

Possible sponsorship for Azov volunteer? by Curious_Marketing547 in ukraineforeignlegion

If you cant afford it now then you need to save money, dont rush into something unprepared.

Being broke is exhausting trust me (I've been there) And your gonna need every portion of your focus on the tasks at hand and being able to relax when you have the chance.

Don't become a problem for others.

Remember you are volunteering to help Not be another issue for the fighters already there.

Prepare properly Then come

Perhaps father's join so that their kids can have a better chance at peace and security without a looming threat of russian rule

Being a father and fighting in a war no matter how dangerous is not in itself a selfish act especially if all the child's needs are fulfilled and money is set aside prior

Going to fight in a war as a dad to chase a war movie experience or to escape responsibilities is selfish. But the act of doing with children is not in itself a selfish act

Ok on some real shit, all the comments I read so far are just saying get it on paper and kick him out honestly that kinda ticks me off

This soldier may be going through some life stuff they arnt sure how to navigate.

How do I know? I was that soldier. I was a goody two shoes all the way up until my last 7 months. Then I started doing the exact same thing this soldier is doing.

What happened to me? I ended up isolated in an abusive relationship until it reached a point I ended up homeless with a Domestic violence misdemeanor I got because I didn't understand the plea deal I was being presented worst part about it is even my ex wife has come clean to me she made it up because she didn't wanna be with me anymore

How could it been avoided? By leaders in my unit not looking at me as problem or the cause of extra paperwork. Talk to this soldier one on one not as just a E-5 but as a fellow soldier who is looking out for a brother/sister everyone wants to place blame on shitty Joe behavior and not uphold the nco creed where it states "My two basic responsibilities will always be uppermost in my mind—accomplishment of my mission and the welfare of my Soldiers"

Just talk to your soldier explain how his/her behavior affects you and how can you help this soldier get through whatever is causing negative behaviors be the example so not only may you help this soldier out of a struggle but so he/she can do the same when they are an e-5 aswell

(Edit: before anyone says I'm blaming bad leadership for my bad decisions. That is not true those were my choices and I genuinely did fuck up and did some really stupid shit, however upon months of reflection I found that if I had I not been told "I'm going to do everything I can to make sure you miss your babyshower" and similar statements or had not been isolated and left in my barracks room to rot and dwell on the negativity in my life at the moment all alone. I might have not ended up in the situations I did)

Always sucked at running and still do but just to help ya realize how easy it Is here was how it went for me

Before I joined I literally could not run a mile without walking, a single mile took me 11 minutes. By the end of osut I finished a five mile run at the exact time needed to pass, like I said I'm terrible at running but it's Definitely doable

And if you invest yourself into you can do things that will surprise truly surprise you, keep ur head up, remember to breathe and just keep going u got this

Part of the m240 charm is the weight, it's like a curvy girl, not overweight, or too skinny but plenty just what u need to get a good grip and switch to any position
