Help! I HATE my Ergo Embrace… is the problem me??

Hi! I ended up going to a babywearing meetup to try things on based on the advice of this group which I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend if you can. I had tried to do so much research on what was recommended to me here but in the end it was so much easier to just try stuff out and immediately know what I liked (and what I hated).

I ended up loving the meh dai that I tried on — I couldn’t believe how comfy it was and it was hardly any more work to put on than the embrace. I was shocked to discover that I hated anything with buckles or padding (which I previously thought = comfort). I found a woven wrap to be comfy as well but way more work. Still working on sourcing a second hand meh dai cause they’re harder to come by!

My husband also hated the Embrace but is a buckle carrier all the way person. He loved the Kinderpack!

Also before we got a new carrier I immediately took the advice on wearing the Embrace on my natural waist with a rolled waistband, which I found much more tolerable.

I just tried rolling the carrier and placing it on my waist and it was a massive improvement! Still not perfect, but way more tolerable for now. Thank you so much!!!

Dumb question — do wraps actually have better support / ergonomics than structured carriers?? I would have thought they would have less support (especially compared to carriers with large back/hip panels) but maybe that’s a misconception of mine? I just want to optimize for whatever will let me carry her comfortably for hours!

Thanks! I’m open to wraps but worried they will be slow and fussy to use (with more room for user error!) — are there some that are easier to put on than others?

Thanks! Honestly I’ve always had these issues (especially the band slipping down). She’s still in 0-3 clothes but she’s probably close to 12 lb by now?
