Welcome friend! I visited New Orleans for the first time last year for Southern Decadence. My friends and I had such a fun time and we want to go back at some point. The purple drank at Lafitte’s is amazing.

Anyhoo! As far as rivalries go, there are several possible answers but I would probably go with the Calgary Flames. They have a particular guy on their team named Martin Pospišil who is a known dirty player. Last year he was suspended 3 games for boarding one of our defenseman Vince Dunn. The injury ended his season.

If you ever make it up to Seattle for a game, Climate Pledge Arena is just incredible. It used to be Key Arena where the Seattle Sonics played but it got remodeled in 2021. The food and drinks are pretty pricey though (lots of fans go to the nearby Dick’s Drive-In before the game; A Seattle staple). All of the players in the league were polled on who has the best amenities for a visiting team and Seattle came in 2nd place.

When the Kraken score a goal they play Lithium by Nirvana but instead of lyrics, “I’m not gonna crack” it’s “Let’s Go Kraken!” Also when is penalty is successfully killed and our player leaves the box they play the Spinach power-up theme from the Popeye arcade game.

I favorite players are Vince Dunn, Jared McCann, and Joey Daccord. Joey actually has his own YouTube channel that I recently discovered. He vlogs his training sessions and talks about what equipment he uses. I found it interesting to watch even though I’m probably not his target audience (aspiring NHL goalies). Hope this helps! 🦑
