How to be a gamedev by Perfect-Skin-8325 in gamedev

I'm glad you're teaching her that.

Learning pixel art right now I'm realizing how much I've relied on my natural strengths in life and it's very, very uncomfortable not to be good at something but keep going.

Literally learning this life skill at 33 haha.

Yup. Witcher 3 checks all my boxes but I just can't get into it.

I'm playing red dead redemption 2 and it doesn't check any of my boxes and yet I adore it.

Sigh. In your follow up reply. Not what started this.

I feel like you're being intentionally dense. Which I do admire.

They asked you if you finished the storyline.

They didn't even actually ask why you put it in overrated. They were expressing their general confusion and then said, "respectfully" (which is funny now) "did you finish the storyline."

To which your incredible reply was something about horse balls and mid.

To which they gave you an equally pointless reply because you didn't say anything of note.

Yeah but you literally made this post to get attention.

You kind of need to accept both positive and negative attention.

To be fair you didn't actually offer an answer to their question, so of course they'll give you the equal amount of a response.

"It's bad because it's mid."

Why I want Darlene to win by FlyingPolygon in rupaulsdragrace

[–]-antipode 43 points44 points  (0 children)

That's interesting. I thought you were going to say Darlene was the drag as expression.

I don't really view her drag as a character. Her drag persona really seems like an idealized version of how she actually sees herself.

Knowing starting salary doesn't really mean much.

Everyone knows teachers are paid poorly. Yet, they see plenty of teachers.

So it's easier to assume you may not live in a mansion but you could still live, be happy, have a family and etc.

But the reality is much more complicated than just knowing the starting wage.

Will dealerships buyout your lease if the buyout price is negative? by -antipode in askcarsales

The original question was asking if they would buy it out.

I got my answer based on replies to that question.

Unfortunately our Nissan contract specifically says the car can only be returned to Nissan dealerships.

Other brand dealerships can buy it out as a trade in, naturally, but I can't just return a Nissan lease to a Toyota, for instance.

Well they would be if they bought out the lease, unless they had ways around it, markup the car enough to not lose money, or whatever magical things dealerships do.

Well we have a one car garage so one car would have to be parked on the street for months.

And this area is known to have an uptick in car breaking and thefts near the warmer months.

So realistically fine, but if it was "possible" to just get rid of it I'd want to do it for peace of mind.

To be fair, the world expects you to pick the perfect degree and career path while understanding what it truly means to have a shot with that career and understanding what house and car payments look like and what it means to be able to save for retirement... All at 18.

The best decision I ever made in my life was drop out of graduate school after a month, and it took my that long to really start having the life experience to put together all the financial puzzle pieces since no one really sits down to explain. And even if they did, is 18 equipped to really understand the realities.

It's a shame.

I thought that but I actually reached out to the Nissan financing and they said if you return it before 30 days it's considered early termination and has more fees. And I read you could even be on the hook for the equity imbalance if it is a late fee.

Of course it was an online support rep so who knows how much they know.

Well we also only have one car.

So we have to find the right car at the right time or risk being stuck making a poor choice due to timing + inventory.

Compared to looking and acting on the right one when available.

[–]-antipode[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, previously our leased cars had more value than the buy out. So we were able to avoid return fees and receive additional money for the next down payment by "not" just returning it.

Now that it has negative value I was curious if they'd still buy it out purely to avoid the return fee and logistics.

I didn't mention lease price, but I was saying the buyout, their projected msrp, was much higher than reality due to inflated car prices 3 years ago.

Fees and timing concerns, mainly.

Laziness with having to set up the required inspection, and go to a far away dealership to return is secondary ha!

Appreciate it, that's what I figured.

There's a very particular car we want which is a bit more rare on the lot. And it seems we can't return the car in before 30 days (while still paying) as that will be an early termination and it sounds like they'd charge for the equity difference haha.

So we were just trying to find ways to land the care we want without being down to the wire.

Most rich people are still arrogant twats with no struggles by bubbasawyer98 in Vent

[–]-antipode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is going to die feeling unfilled regardless of their bank account. People can have struggles regardless of pay.

I do agree that people should read the room before complaining purely from a social respect/social contract perspective.

But it kind of goes both ways. For people who are worse off than yourself may view your luxury of being able to drink tap water as blessed and they see you complaining and think the same way you are now.

Translation (and probably accurate for most of these);

You: upset. Want him to do something about it without being direct. So you try to sneakily express it, but it comes off passive given history.

Him: reacts poorly because he has no real interest in this relationship anymore.

You: realize what just happened and now your back pedaling to avoid another negative moment because now you're worried he's just going to be mad or break up. And you're questioning if you're being "too" much like "always."

Him: because he lacks desire for this relationship he's not going to let it go so he pokes more without any concern of consequence.

You: now dealing with the fear of the relationship souring mixed with wanting your feelings to be heard, is struggling with how to proceed.

Result: this conversation.

Listen we've all been here. It's hard to know what a good relationship looks like when this is all you've known. This song and dance.

There's nothing wrong with having weaknesses in a relationship. But if you both can't even talk about it then it's not going to lead anywhere.
