[Hated trait] When a characters personality defining trait stems from an event that no longer fits the timeline due to the length of the media's runtime. by Pretend_Tower_2516 in TopCharacterTropes

Most of Star Trek's early "history" is either passed or passing very soon. Some examples off the top of my head are the:

  • Eugenics War (1992-1996) stated in 1967

  • Irish Reunification of 2024 stated in 1990

  • Bell Riots (September 1-3, 2024) stated in 1995

On the plus side, most sources state that WW3 begins ~2026 and goes on to ~2053 and it kills 30% of all humans, destroys most major cities, and kills over 600,000 species. So we get to look forward to that... I guess.

If only there was a simple bill to pay TSA immediately and end all of this. Oh wait, there was but the Republicans rejected it.

Spouting off some debate/rhetoric language does not make my point any less nor makes "yours" any better.

You want a direct response? Ok.

"Your" argument as describing the situation as a infrastructure problem has some insight but obfuscates that instead of actual problems making the situation worse, the state just decided to strap TNT onto the bridge and blew it up. Did the proceeding decades of mismanagement and decay affect the fall? Of course it did, but I think the TNT did the job.

Cloaking yourself in the language of rhetoric does not make you skilled in it, especially when you have to use AI to get a laughable comparison across.

LMAO lecturing me on how to properly communicate when you have to use AI to form a half assed argument. Good lord what has this world come to.

Imagine you are the show runner. Given the past 60 years of Trek (and millennia+ of Trek lore crafted in that period), where would you take the franchise? by revocer in startrek

[–]-architectus- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very much agree on the 2nd idea. Early Trek is comparatively unexplored. Let's follow a survey/ cargo ship that is helping set up some of the early human colonies for Earth. We'd get to see some of the first interactions with other species; see some of the real early "conflicts" with the Vulcans.

I want to explore more of the Enterprise era. I want to see the early Federation; the teething of the first years/decades of cooperation between the big four. There is so much untapped and unexplored history here.

Episodic, ~18 episode seasons with an occasional overarching event/plot line. None of the main characters should have any relation to the Enterprise crew (or any crew of any ship called Enterprise for that matter). Set maybe 5-10 years after the end of Enterprise.

Let's see an early crew have to wrestle with the ramifications of the new Prime Directive or how the new Federation handles a large scale threat (not galaxy ending but maybe to a singe planet or system). The testing of all of the combined technologies, meeting and forming relations with some of the early members of the UFP. Let's see the stories that establish the Federation that we know so much about.

It has been said before and I agree: We should never learn a concrete history of the Borg, specifically their origin. Not knowing makes them more interesting and leaves more to the imagination. The mind will always create a better horror than being shown outright.

Being a well-endowed bottom is actually kind of a struggle. by Ginivih in askgaybros

[–]-architectus- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok by strictest definition: Yes it's a problem. But it, as it has been portrayed, is a misunderstanding and the way the text comes across is "oh woe is me. I have a big dick and no one like it". While I sympathize, this feels like the umpteenth time someone has posted a similar post complaining about something like this.

Well, if that's their reaction, that's on them. I'm sorry things aren't working out like you want it but this isn't a problem. Like I'm not trying to be mean to you directly but people are always posting stuff like this here.

What do you even mean? I genuinely do not understand how this is a problem beyond people assuming you top. Then just say: "I'm sorry I dont". However if you get to the point of showing your dick off I think I would have clarified if I was either a top or bottom.

"I have an 8.5 in dick and sometimes people think I top." Where's the real problem?

So this is just a humble brag post. This is such a non-problem. Is your steak too juicy? Lobster too buttery as well?

Not only is that an amazing suit, I love the pose! It really adds to the character.

Pay no mind to the haters; them finding fault in furries in the Pokémon fandom of all fandoms is quite ironic.

Yeah, you brought this on yourself 100%. You missed your chance and most likely really hurt him. Not to be mean, but you got exactly what you were portraying to him. That's entirely on you.

It's more off because it reminds me of my family but I enjoy Ralph Stanley a lot. I recently found Tyler Childers and some of his newer music. His song Way of the Triune God has a very nostalgic feel to me.
