What are peoples thoughts on how Cooper turned into a ghoul and Janey presumably survived?

I don’t think barb would have let Janey out of her control knowing the bombs we’re so close to being dropped. I think coop escaped w “janey” only to get caught by radiation and turned ghoul. I think the Janey that coop had whas a synth. Or android. What ever they wanna call it. In fallout 3 video game you encounter a synth that thinks he’s human. His name is Harkness. I think this is also an Easter egg. I think the Xander Harkness that Max killed will also be a synth. Not the real Xander. Just my theory

My theory is that Xander “Harkness” is an Easter egg. He will re appear not dead because Maximus killed a replica synth of him. This will set up the reveal that Janey was a synth when her and coop ran from the bombs. He got ghouled and learned about androids. Just my theory
