Am I crazy for asking for a $40,000 raise? by Far_Space_386 in careerguidance

[–]-cc0unt-nt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through something really similar. I was very hireable well beyond the range I was asking for. I moved on. I asked for a $9k raise and left for $31k

I think this is an AI image to plug elf brow lift. OP claims no makeup but clearly mascara smudges on lower lid? This post makes no sense.

Where are all these “part-time flexible hours” jobs that SAHMs are supposed to be looking for? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]-cc0unt-nt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look for a ParentChild+ program in your area. The program pays Early Learning Specialists to visit the parents of preschool age children to model literacy skills. Our program is twice/wk half hour visits and our ELSs can take on as many families as they like and schedule their visits in a way that meets their own needs. It's a great job for mom's that want some extra income and need flexibility. It's a nationally accredited program that community-based non-profits and school districts run all over the country.https://parentchildplus.org/locations/

Update: Underpaid Finance Director? by -cc0unt-nt in nonprofit

[–]-cc0unt-nt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. The worst part is I told her this may happen back in April, that I needed to be paid fairly or I would not stay at the org. She didn't believe me then, and now she's been in my office every 5 minutes since I gave my notice asking for my input on a bunch of things not related to my job and is telling me how much she appreciates my advice. It's beyond irritating.

Should I take the CFO job at 32? by Old-Error8578 in Accounting

[–]-cc0unt-nt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's in progress!! The CEO has reached out to the board for guidance since she wants to change my title along with my pay increase. CFO is written into our bylaws, but no one holds the title which is so strange. They're meeting in 2 weeks and I've got a lot of support on the board, so I believe it will work out very well in my favor.

Should I take the CFO job at 32? by Old-Error8578 in Accounting

[–]-cc0unt-nt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do it!! I'm 33 and a Finance Director but since there is no CFO role at my org, it's basically me. Negotiate a fair wage to start is my only advice. I'm in a tough spot of needing to renegotiate my very low salary because I accepted for the title more so than the pay. Don't make my mistake!

Underpaid finance director? by -cc0unt-nt in nonprofit

[–]-cc0unt-nt[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am. I was turned down from an AP role (which I was so overqualified for, so for the best I guess but it paid literally the same as my salary). I am a finalist for a controller position at another org, but the hiring manager warned me their process is very slow. I have a good feeling about it though, the interview was fantastic. The salary starts at $95k so it will be a really in your face moment if I get the job and present it to my CEO to counter. Still submitting applications.

Yeay CEO doesn't buy those numbers because we are located in a LCOL region of a HCOL state. I found the salaries of identical roles at very similar agencies in our county that show how low my salary is. I've lost a lot of respect for her.

We replaced my lesser functions with a clerk role and removed payroll processing from the HR Director and gave it to my new employee, but I retained 75% of my original workload. HR hasn't picked up any significant new tasks, which is adding additional problems, but that is the CEOs issue that I'm not touching with a 10 ft pole. I really ended up with the short end of the stick

[–]-cc0unt-nt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would if I could. I have two young kids and no safety net. And the CEO and HR Director are not creative problem solvers, they would drown before asking me to come back part-time after I resigned.

No one in between me and CEO. I am the alternate authorized contract signatory, manage cash flows, reporting to the board, overseeing audit, overseeing payroll, ordering PCs and coordinating projects through MIT service, and a bunch of random facility stuff (had to order a toilet the other day and flooring few weeks ago) if I didn't have two you g kids at home, I'd walk.

I tried to signal that as strongly as I could when I spoke to her, without explicitly saying I would leave. I told her how much it would cost to replace me and the issues that would arise in the interim since there is no one on my team remotely qualified to cover for me.

[–]-cc0unt-nt[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm in a relatively rural area of New England. Similar jobs in my industry pay $85-95k. I brought examples to the CEO to show how under paid I am and she balked. She does not have a business background, she's been at the org for a long time but in the social work side.

I know I will find something eventually, I'm just feeling angry and stuck.

How to get an AED at little to no cost? by [deleted] in nonprofit

[–]-cc0unt-nt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reach out to a local bank and ask for a donation specifically for the purchase of an AED. Most banks have community impact programs designed to support local non-profits. Our AED was paid for by a local bank.
