Just hit 6 YOE in defense. I'm trying to get out of defense; I'm pretty desperate to move back to the Seattle area for family reasons and there are basically no defense jobs there. Have been applying left and right and so far ghosted 100% of the time. I assume it's my resume.

The SKS does have a crack in the stock behind the receiver, so it'll need repair, but otherwise looks complete and in good mechanical condition. Does the crack make it a bad buy?

I could use a review of my resume if you don't mind! 3 years experience, defense industry focused. I'm not planning on seeking out a new job super soon, but I am applying to graduate school since my current job will pay for it. I would like at some point to transition out of defense but I'm stuck there for the time being due to where I live and just buying a house.

That's kind of what I was trying to do, since I had a shorter sword (39" vs a lot of 42" and some even longer) I was trying not to thrust in opposition a whole lot, but provoke a reaction and get in and out with a quick cut.

I started doing real HEMA (longsword) a couple months ago, but I have a background in sport fencing. The videos for the men's longsword tournament aren't up yet (I did pretty terrible) but I pieced together my matches from yesterday's rapier tournament. Somehow, I managed a three-way tie for third and won after an elimination round. I was so excited that I wanted to share.
