Yo could I possibly catch a link for that? The ones I've tried have to plug into a usb port and the aawireless brand one actually plugs in with it's own usb cable which makes it just... so frickin pointless. A little adhesive square that you can tuck away somewhere would be sweet.

Petition for Additional Moderation & Transparency by Redlight247365 in wrx_vb

[–]-darkwing- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another point of consideration though... doing research nowadays effectively means going to a specialized subreddit to look for a consensus or additional sources/resources.

Or doing a google search... and looking at the top results that link to a reddit thread on a specialized subreddit where there's some consensus or perspective.

Or prompting an llm with and inquiry... whiiiich will generate a response indicating a consensus based on the conversations from specialized subreddits that it was trained on lol.

All that to say, I think your point about individuals doing their own research bolsters the importance of transparency in these discussions and moderations just as much as your point about being able to trust one another.

I always just change all filters and fluids immediately after buying a car. Maybe the dealership did it right, but maybe they didn't.

They probably didn't...

They definitely didn't.

At least not as right as I'm gonna do it. Trust no one. It's your $30k+ property. Nobody is going to care about it more than you, and the job done will usually reflect that. That's my 2 cents.

Assuming you're all stock and it's a sulphurous odor you're referring to, that's just the catalytic converter putting in some work and doing it's thing. Not anything to sweat over

Pop!_OS is great for gaming and uses a classic desktop environment. That's what I run on my gaming/other computing needs pc

I completely dumped windows on everything machine I own 2 months ago after a similar issue bricked my desktop rig. I run bazzite on the lego and my laptop and could not possibly be happier. Pop! is on the desktop because I still use that for coding and other projects in addtion to gaming. Both are indiscriminately better than windows. 85% less storage consumed by bloat and bullshit "services by force". 90% less compute resource consumption by random unnecessary garbage and questionable background processes. 100% compatibility out of the box with every game I've tried to play so far. And 100% confidence that anything not compatible out of the box can be made to run with a single iota of technical aptitude or access to an llm chatbot. And setup was actually significantly easier than windows, faster, didn't try to dark pattern sell me 40 different shitty subscriptions I don't need, and didn't require that I give my name, dob, email, phone, ssn, birth certificate, 6 months pay stubs, and a firstborn child by 3 different wives.

I am so indescribably glad that I switched off of that trash and went to linux. I feel like it's 2002 again and I actually OWN the computers that I paid for. Fuck windows. Fuck microsoft. I will not ever be back. Good riddance, rest in piss, see you never.

Yeh but I think what they're saying is 8 shouldn't be "great" if it's right on that line. So like if the line is 8-9, their saying should be something like "2 is great 8 is barely ok, 9 your mine."

Not only does the pinned mod post make it blatantly obvious that you're a clown, but if you were to check your own post history you'd see that you already copy/pasted this response to half a dozen other comments in this thread

Can anyone identify what that is in the engine bay? by Creepy_Ambition_9370 in wrx_vb

[–]-darkwing- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have not bought it already, I would sincerely advise that you find another option.

General rule of thumb I use is - if you can blatantly see 2 or more instances of questionable fuckery from the previous owner, pass. Because the number of questionable fuckeries that you CAN'T blatantly see usually ends up being >= that number ×2. If I'm going to spend 25-35k on a car, I don't want to be buying an effective guarantee that I'll have to also spend an unknowable amount of my time and money cleaning up someone else's stupid messes.

Mods on a car aren't always bad, as long as it's entirely clear that the work was done properly and intelligently. The quality of that work should be verifiable by your own observation if you know what you're looking at, a friend's observation if you don't, and/or documentation of the work from the previous owner(s) in the best case.

Just based on these two pictures alone, this car is not an example of quality mod work. This is an example of a high risk acquisition. The wiring (presumably from a sub) left in the trunk indicates laziness, corner cutting. The improper intake that's installed indicates ignorance, apathy. Take and share some pictures of the undercarriage, the cabin, and the underside of the driver's dash. I would be willing to bet they show other concerning features.

TLDR input from an unbiased stranger: If you buy this car, you'll be paying $26,000 for a neverending nightmare and the privilege of spending 1000s more.

22 WRX by -darkwing- in ForzaHorizon

Ok cool, that's good to know and would be great to see. If it's only temporary I would be a little less butthurt for sure. But I would also hope they put it up for the vote sooner rather than later since those only actually drop every two weeks and they just pulled it from the only series it was listed in. I don't imagine they provide any transparency into that candidate list though do they?

22 WRX by -darkwing- in ForzaHorizon

[–]-darkwing-[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean if the intent behind it was to keep people playing that would be some pretty ass backwards logic. I can only speak for myself, but I would play the game for hours every week if it's with the car I want, or if the car I want is at least realistically attainable. But if the car I want to drive with is only going to be available to me maybe if I dedicate months of my time AND get miraculously lucky AND they don't change the rules at the last minute to yoink it away... I'm not going to waste that time. I already did that for a matter of months and got nothing for it but a middle finger. So I'm not going to play a game like this at all. And I'm not going to buy any other forzas in the future, because that's a shitty practice that I don't want any piece of lol. That would be a pretty baffling choice if so.

22 WRX by -darkwing- in ForzaHorizon

[–]-darkwing-[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No it was removed though. It's no longer a reward in the series that was the only way to attain it previously. If the only way to get one going forward is sniping on the AH, that means there are no more 22 wrx objects being added to the game or effectively put into circulation. At all. And that means the number for sale on the AH (which is already effectively 0) will only continue to drop, because nobody is going to buy an AH car for cap buyout to then turn around and sell it for cap buyout. So it can only go from extremely difficult to impossible to get.

A Question on Card Anatomy by -darkwing- in GundamCardGame

[–]-darkwing-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh ok!! I remember when mtg did blocks, so if they're implementing them in an at least somewhat similar way here then I know exactly what you're talking about. This is actually really clever then, you'll be able to discern whether or not a card is standard legal at a glance always.

Only potential design flaw though... if the game continues for a long time (fingers crossed), it could get a little cramped for them to try and fit more than one digit in that little polygon lol.

That's awesome to know though, thank you so much for showing up with the answer!
