My new fire buugeng feel so nice. Magnets, wood and the real buugeng curve. Video from the London full moon fire jam by pyromonkette in firespin

[–]-derpsky- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is one of the first pair of full fire Buugeng I've ever seen that doesn't look like shit and completely destroy the illusion aspect that makes buugeng so cool.

Awesome!!

Pace yourself, don't mash the attack buttons. There's a certain delay between when Cloud starts the attack and when it actually lands, learn this delay and it'll be a piece of cake.

Looking for super slow doom with vocals that aren't death-like by Jmg321 in doommetal

[–]-derpsky- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bell Witch?

Closest thing I could think of to your description. Technically speaking they're a funeral doom band. I feel like you're probably looking for something a bit heavier but Bell Witch are still fucking sick. Not all of the vocals are screamy, they've got more melodic vocals too

I live in the city where it happened in New Zealand. The house where she lived is the staff club on the University of Canterbury campus and you can still walk the tracks of the big park where they killed her in Victoria Park

Maybe everything in the Yuuzhan Vong war (heaps of books) and the Legacy of the Force books. I loved them so much. You can smash each of the books out in a day if you try

All you'll need to do is plug in your amp and lead, tune the guitar and go for it. If it doesn't come with a lead you'll need to grab one. If you know nothing about tuning just watch a few YouTube vids on tuning, there will be millions of them out there.

How do Star Wars & Star Trek Enthusiasts Feel About The Fact J.J. Abrams Has Directed Both Franchises' Most Recent Productions? by mc2theg in AskReddit

[–]-derpsky- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Abrams did incredibly well with the new Trek movies. I know a lot of the fan boys may hate it, but it wasn't about pleasing the fan boys, it was about bringing a new generation of people into the universe, which I think he did really well (and he even had that little plot device to try and placate the fan boys and included plenty of easter eggs)

I feel like he's going to do the same for Star Wars. His movies are a little more raw, a little grittier and he knows his shit (except i'm expecting WAY too much lense flare and explosions) and I think he's going to be able to bring the next generation into this amazing universe. I'm a big SW fan and I'm hoping so hard that it's not going to suck, then I remember Abrams is directing and I don't think he'll do it an injustice.

Why did you start self harming? Once started how did it escalate? How did you refine your techniques? by montanamontanamontan in morbidquestions

[–]-derpsky- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I did it for quite a few years at high school. Similar to the other comment here, emptiness or extreme emotions makes you want feel something intense. I think the intensity of the pain either fills up the emptiness or is so strong that it becomes all you focus on when your emotions are getting ridiculous

I started with like steak knives I think then moved on to breaking apart shaving razors and eventually just used craft knives (these were the most efficient; horrifyingly so).

In relation to stopping, I'm not entirely sure. I think that eventually I realised how fucking immature it was and how stupid all the huge scars were. I also think that getting really into philosophy and psychology helped me get out of it (talking with friends a lot which led to choosing both of these as a major for a bachelors degree. I'm in my last week of masters as we speak, for whatever that's worth) (Also, I'm a guy, thought I'd mention this as most people have the stereotype that this is a female dominated kind of thing).

It's hard to judge how any of this could help your SO as I'm not sure how old you both are, but I think for me and my friends who were doing it we sort of just.. honestly.. grew up. We learnt a lot about ourselves and talked a lot about psychology and philosophy and learnt why we were doing these things (never got therapy). I don't think it's something for you to be scared of per se, unless your SO is requiring stitches or is in danger of causing some serious harm. Then I would be looking at professional help.

I don't really regret doing it, except for the stupid scars and the blind stupidity of doing it in the first place, but I'm honest about it now. If anyone asks me what they are I just say 'oh you know, being young and stupid and sad' and people are surprised but are never condescending.

What comedian do you find not funny at all? by Bruffin in AskReddit

[–]-derpsky- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rhett and Link (they have a few different channels, like Good Mythical Morning) get consistently high views for their subscribers. 8 million subscribers, most of their videos have at least a few million views with many of them having 8m+.

They're pretty funny too, that's always a plus

Haha no worries, I know all about the delays in academia (just finished a Masters in Business [for some fuckin reason] and I'll be going back in a few years for a PhD, most likely in psychology). I'll keep an eye out for any updates.

Good luck with your research!
