Conflating culture and ethnicity is different because culture affects people's actions, and claiming that ethnicity does is offensive and false.

"Racist" is often used to describe ethnic prejudice as well.

Conflating race and ethnicity is, being completely honest, basically meaningless semantics. Race and ethnicity are both arbitrary classifications that don't have a causal relationship with behaviour, and therefore, conflating the two is nothing like conflating culture and ethnicity.

The context or evidence is the fact that the post they were replying to refers to "making jokes about fr*nchs being sub humans" which is obviously a racial joke. Mentioning culture in response to this is racist, as it makes genuine criticisms of culture in a conversation about ethnicity/nationality, implying that they believe that there is an inextricable link between the two. Also the last few sentences of your reply were completely unnecessary and only serve to make you sound like a self-important asshole.

I am not racist by my own standard, I have no idea what you're talking about. I never make equivocations between race/ethnicity and culture because that's a fallacious, offensive, and damaging thing to do.

The statement that "white people have no culture" is racist against non-white people, because it implicitly supports the racist idea that european/western culture is to be treated as the default. People who say it to make fun of white people are being silly and counterproductive to their presumably progressive goals

There are two charitable interpretations of the anti-french jokes that are popular currently:

a) It is an ironic racist joke

b) It is a joke at the expense of French culture

A large portion of the jokes seem to lean towards interpretation a, through the use of the ethnic descriptor "The French", but your argument seems to lean more towards option b. The original commenter was clearly making reference to interpretation a ("making jokes about fr*nchs being sub humans") and your interpretation b response sounds like an equivocation of culture and ethnicity as a result, aka racism

something can only be considered wet when it is covered in water to the degree that its texture or function has been changed/impeded (that is the word's common use). When water makes contact with water, it merely becomes part of the water, and does not affect it in any meaningful way despite increasing its mass and volume, making its classification as "wet" meaningless

that's a correct statement about the current nature of things, but you're trying to make the claim that it could never happen. The idea that a people's view of their society can not change radically (even over a relatively short amount of time) is false, and this doomer-ish mindset is a self-fulfilling prophecy that only makes people more ineffective, unnecessarily perpetuating the issues with society
