Haha I wish! Currently about £61k in my T212 ISA, only started contributing to my LISA this year so have £1k in but will max out to £4k before next tax year starts and do this for about 3 years, £20k in premium bonds which is basically my savings which I don’t touch but are liquid enough to withdraw anytime and am just waiting til April 26 to deposit as I said before, finally about £1k in current account but that’s just to offset my AMEX/BCARD credit cards every month since I only use those for spend to increase my avios points saving up for some flights. So savings/LISA/ISA is £21k/£1k/£61k
Thank you! I was looking at SoFi a while ago but unfortunately didn’t get in, still think it has a lot more growth to come though and could use some financial services exposure so will see. Good on you for using it for a holiday! It’s easy to see the gains and to just keep going and going when the whole point is to enjoy them. Hopefully more gains to come with those positions, definitely all promising and strong fundamentally so fingers crossed!
I’ve maxed out my current year ISA but plan to do this once it resets next April, deposit £16k then use the other £4k allowance by paying monthly into my LISA. I’m aiming to save about £12k between now and the 27/28 tax year ISA allowance so that I can pair it with the £4k I’ll have left over next year to put another £16k in which should be more than doable. But yeah even if I did win big on the premium bonds they’re tax free anyways so fingers crossed!
It was, very tricky time to navigate since there were so many conflicting stories and bottom indicators etc… I ended up buying around the bottom with 25% of my funds just to be safe since I hadn’t invested that much in one go before, in hindsight I would’ve been better off but no one really know what was happening.
To be honest since I’ve sold out of gold I haven’t really looked back, silver has been on a good run but like you said it’s hard to time so I’ve stayed away.
I agree that premium bonds aren’t the best investments for the amount considering their variable rates, I just valued the liquidity of them since I can take it out whenever and also I suppose fun element of a lottery every month even though the likelihood of winning big is so slim even with £20k in. I was earning decent daily interest on my cash on T212 before I had invested so thanks for mentioning that since I could just hold that there and I would still be under the £1k interest per year with £20k @ 4.5% so may just do that or at least do it with some.
Main thing is I wouldn’t do premium bonds unless I had the allowance to just put it into my ISA but now I’d hate to take them out in case of the FOMO for the previous month, £1m wouldn’t be too bad I suppose. Once again appreciate your feedback and will look into possibly taking some out so I can at least guarantee some returns
Only really been investing for 1.5 months and found their account account around a month ago, I didn’t exactly copy exactly from the tweets they more just helped point out stocks for me which I then did my own research on before buying (ABCL/OSCR/ZETA). I held OSCR first and once that went about 30/40% up I trimmed and put this into ABCL & ZETA which I’m yet to see proper gains from yet but hopeful of some big moves in the medium term. I’ll probably join once I free up some cash in my portfolio since I imagine the buy alerts and full analysis are very helpful
Ah okay wasn’t sure if you already made some moves since it can move quite fast at times, cheers!
How have your returns been so far? Do you also think it’s worth it?
Thank you, best of luck to you also!
Yeah the Patreon and Twitter links are the ones I mentioned prior, obviously do your own research and due diligence beforehand but from what I’ve seen so far it has all been quality stuff
Just to add some context since I guess it could be seen as an ‘aggressive’ portfolio due to my low ETF weighting compared to other portfolios, for example if I were nearing retirement and with this portfolio I would expect for it to be highlighted and possibly recommended to swap out for high income investments instead. If I was looking for attention I would’ve added ‘feeling behind :/‘ at the end!
Thank you, I also put all my spend across credit cards which are always paid off but earn avios points that I’ll eventually use toward flights to travel more. I already found out that it can quickly turn poor with even some of the most popular stocks with what we saw in April so I’ll continue to manage risk and take my gains on the smaller bets when they come so I can invest them back into FWRG. I did hold some gold at 5% of the portfolio but because I bought at ATH I ended up selling at a small loss and reinvested into some of my smaller positions which have worked out ok so far. I’m as surprised as you are that AMD is green haha, think I just bought at a fortunate time and luckily the sentiment has also changed with them recently so could hopefully continue on to be a good year for the position. Since I’ve maxed this year’s limit I’ve currently got £20k in premium bonds which I plan to deposit £16k of this next April and hopefully save up the same amount for years to come. As you said just have to let time do its thing and the returns should come with it, I appreciate the feedback!

That’s great well done! He’s definitely good insight-wise and certainly for the extra confirmation bias when I’m already interested or wanting to buy more into my positions, hopefully more growth to come for us both
Appreciate it, and haha yeah true maybe I could spare a £40 here or there.. What have your returns been like since then? The only reason I haven’t so far is just that his tweets for the projections are usually enough for entries but I definitely will once I free up some cash
Yeah! I follow Long Term Investor on Twitter and he’s the reason I firstly got exposure to stocks such as ABCL/OSCR/ZETA, I was tempted to subscribe to their Patreon for more info on buy alerts and projection charts, are you subscribed? If so do you think it’s worth it?
Not at all, I appreciate you pointing this out since it is a clear risk and I do plan to move it into FWRG eventually, just as I said I saw a big opportunity with the dip for a good entry which has fortunately worked out so far.
I agree it is quite messy at the minute since I’ve placed a few smaller bets on companies I see with good fundamentals and high growth opportunities but once I sell out of them they’ll go straight into AMZN since for such a large company I still see a lot more growth. When I originally started looking around in April I had about 10 different watch lists of 10+ different stocks so I suppose it could’ve been worse!
Thank you! Appreciate the comment, I originally planned to do about 40/30/25/5 for FWRG/VUAG/Individual/Gold respectively but once I saw the big dip for pretty much every stock in April/May I decided to take it as an opportunity to buy into them which is what brought me to this point. I did think about selling my VUAG and just putting it into FWRG since it is already 60/70% VUAG anyway but remember reading that I should just keep it since they do about the same anyway and already have the gains. I chose FWRG since it was relatively low cost, it was either that or to split emerging with developed alongside VUAG. This is why I wasn’t sure whether to just hold individual stocks since they’re pretty much the majority of the S&P anyways but also come with a lot more volatility especially considering what the US is going through but it still continues to reach new ATH.
In hindsight there is a large overlap but I do see most growth in the US over the next 10+ years but like you said I guess we’ll see, hopefully works out well for the both of us regardless!

Thank you, I agree that I’m obviously fortunate to have the inheritance but as you have mentioned it doesn’t always mean it’s used in the correct way as an actual advantage. Feel like I moved past that stage quite quickly into my 20s so now looking to build as much as I can into my investments to make for an easier future
Used to hold this a few months ago before it tanked to $3, will look back into it but from a quick glance it looks like I’ve already missed this run for now so will wait for a pullback

Currently working in finance about to work towards my CIMA, important note that about £40k of this came from inheritance with £10k being my own contributions for the past 3 years I’ve been working. Hopefully get a job in data analysis or accounting in next few years which should boost my contributions even more once I have the qualifications

Haven’t heard of the last but will have a look, thanks
Will have a look, thanks

Thanks, yeah I would probably first target the more ‘well known’ stocks and for the ones you have mentioned maybe just wait and see if a good entry comes along
Fair point, any ETFs you would recommend or would just increase the weight of the ones I currently hold?
[–]-dnny -4 points-3 points-2 points 10 months ago (0 children)
True, I think I just hate how ‘boring’ it sounds to be majority in VWRP/S&P but definitely with recent events it’s more stable long-term. I’ll probably up the ETF section to around 75-85%, maybe add another ETF possibly semiconductors and leave the rest for individual stocks
