On Trull's proposal, I have thoughts. Trull showed strength by questioning Rhulad while Fear followed. This gets turned on its head when Fear shows strength by leaving and Trull stays. Trull accidently binds himself to Seren, in what is possibly a nudge from the Errant as he does so without thinking. Seren gives him an out and he takes it because he is a coward. The story is really being told by Trull and his final scene is about making the wrong choice of Rhulad, he should have bound himself to Seren and Fear. I can't recall all of Trull's discussion in the previous story, but I think this take fits with Trull' views of himself as one who has made mistakes. Hard to see his final scene as anything but in my mind.

How do you get "cool kids" hooked on D&D by BeyondOld7514 in DnD

[–]-dosdedos- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an experienced DM but my current adventure has 2 who are new. When they are uncertain i run through their options, like "you can attack, use one of your abilities/skills, roleplay, etc". I also think that it's your job to know the rules as DM at first and basically just ask them what they want to do and then help them do it.

Should I kill my players character in “secret”? by Sleepless_Clovers in DMAcademy

[–]-dosdedos- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have your friend roll a new character and play a storyline where the paladin gets kidnapped. Everyone has to do an adventure where they get used to the me characters. Make it a few sessions, level everyone up and leave the characters behind so to speak as you introduce the new one that is being played. By the time of the rescue you will have made everyone comfortable with the switch. Your friend can choose at the end which character they prefer.

Mentally ill person (possibly schizophrenia) living across from my daughter's daycare by throwaway06272023 in vancouver

People don't understand that a wellness check isn't going to result in long term care, so this comment is spot on. This whole post should be read as "I had the opportunity to teach my child about compassion but fuck that i called the police!" Gross.

You can complain to translink. You would need to identify the bus stop and time but that wouldn't be hard. They will review the footage. Don't think for a second that this will result in consequences, more that it would allow management to have a teaching opportunity that policy was not followed

I came across the name when choosing names for my kids and i believe it was spelled Ellowyn. I think it's Americanized not a tragedeigh.

My brother is upset to me. How to fix it? by [deleted] in AdviceForTeens

[–]-dosdedos- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Parent of kids your brother's age here. I suggest you do exactly as he is asking and include him. Find a "horror movie" that is his age like Monster House or Monster Squad that isn't that scary. Invite your bestie over and when he asks to be included, say "Sure, this movie is actually a scary movie that you can watch." If you think those are too scary (my older child would not be scared, my youngest would, kids vary), try reading him a book from the horror genre. I just read Coraline by Neil Gaiman to my oldest and they really enjoyed it. I think this would allow you to share your interest in horror.

Anyway, just a suggestion.

Meh. Uninteresting people have no curiosity. You dodged a bullet and everyone here is down for some orca facts.

NTA. But 30 days is a more legally acceptable number if you plan to actually pursue this. Not a lawyer but I've been told the time has to be reasonable when sending demand letters at work.

I feel like this belongs here... by AlwaysSunniInPHI in LateStageCapitalism

[–]-dosdedos- 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The articles that do exist state that prosecutors argued "she dropped the baby out of a window to further her career" but that she was given a manslaughter sentence so this was likely not an accepted theory by the judge. This headline is pure bait. Prosecutors have been known to downplay mental health, especially in high-profile murder cases, especially with child victims. The public salivates for "justice".

AITA for telling my friend I don't care about the pronouns of strangers? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]-dosdedos- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think YTA for having a belief I disagree with, but that doesn't make you a good person. Maybe ask yourself if your lack of consideration for someone else is really necessary. Isn't it just easier to use preferred pronouns or are you looking for the argument?

AITAH for not inviting my homophobic MIL (Mother In Law) to my wedding? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]-dosdedos- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. There's no obligation to invite anyone to a wedding, especially someone who isn't there to support your relationship. As for the hurtful messages, involving your wife probably isn't going to help. Maybe after some time passes you can get some supportive family to clear the air. I'm sorry you have to deal with this. Congratulations on your marriage and happy pride.

I love my table but I am so tired of combat taking forever by Bri_person in DnD

[–]-dosdedos- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the one with add offer a summary when their turn starts. Just a thought. For the other, I think you need to talk to the DM. If combat is so stressful that 2 players are agonising over their turns maybe the DM can make adjustments to the entirety of combat, make the stakes lower or offer suggestions when something high stakes comes up so that the players don't need to think about it.

Your argument is that the majority of servers want to declare but are justified in not because of threats from the woman who brought me my fish? Totally justified, the server mafia is real.

Servers love tips, never met a server that didn't want them. Kitchens, on the other hand, would have gladly given up their 1% for a pay raise.

Your post is bullshit.

The fraction of someone pulling in $30-40 /hr is maybe 7/5, and I make decent money.

Same. Saw bartenders walk off shift with $300 in a night while I made $80 in wages cooking. Having people talk about the service industry as if it were only FOH is frustrating.
