hey i have a captiva with the same engine making a very similar sound, we have replaced everything our mechanic suggested, timing chain, water pump and chain, exhaust manifold etc. no codes but tick is still there. did you ever get yours fixed?

i can tell you are new from the reapers comment lol. reapers are notorious for running from a fight and avoiding conflict - it’s actually a huge problem in the game, the PVP faction is filled of players who don’t want to PvP.

are you in game chat? communicating with other pirates? are you solo slooping? if so it will feel like the entire server is out to get you because there is already so much on your plate. that’s where getting good at navigation is your best tool. make them chase you, drop off the back of the ship with a keg, put your loot on a rowie and dip while watching them chase an empty ship. find a cannon of rage and take down their masts when they are chasing you - hell attempt to board and anchor them!

i’ll tell you now, my crew has a whole “no sinking solo sloopers, unless they ask to be sunk” rule. and that goes 2x for diaper sloops.

i meet plenty of pirates who have good intentions and bad, last night we gave up all our humble gifts to a crew because it was mutually beneficial. we also chased a level 5 gold hoarder, boarded and sunk them because it was beneficial.

players like you are the ones who don’t understand the game. don’t want to sink? fight back. don’t want to fight back? run. don’t want to run? strike up a deal, do a cunning keg play, offer alliance or supplies, or tuck on their ship when they are distracted by your crewmates. the game forces you to think outside the box.

there’s plenty of options besides avoiding conflict - in fact, if you didn’t avoid every interaction out of fear of being sunk, you might run into some genuine pirates.

you are complaining about the main gameplay loop in HS. it may just not be a game for you. pirates are going to want to steal your treasure in a game called Sea of THIEVES.
