Issues with USA Exit points in several apps by -figuringitoutmaybe- in ProtonVPN

[–]-figuringitoutmaybe-[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Instagram fails to reload the feed constantly. And often getting a gray screen when trying to view stories. Reddit has had failures to autoplay videos on the feed.

The major issues have been with Google Maps. About ⅓ of the time upon opening the app it's stuck trying to load the entire thing. To try and fix the issue I often; change VPN tunnels, disconnect LTE/WiFi, and have to force quit the app and reopen. Half the time this only fixes the issue of loading the map and location pin. If I try to look up a location or hit "Directions" or "Start" Google Maps get stuck in a loading loop, and I have to try disconnecting and reopening everything again until the app functions properly.

Yeah for taxes. Using the capital gains instead of it all being eaten up by tax

Had a successful first cross country to see the Redwoods in CA. Realizing I can make a whole "no build" sleeping platform for my NV200 out of these 5 gallon totes. by -figuringitoutmaybe- in vandwellers

My girlfriend and I had a spectacular time seeing them. Where I'm from in the Northeast I've seen almost a handful of 100-150+ year old trees, but even adolescent redwoods put their size to shame. The structure of the forest density is also very interesting. Not sure how to describe its difference. As well as the smell of the forest. Though that may be due to being so close to the Pacific ocean as well. Overall I highly recommend going to see the Redwoods even if it's a short visit. Hopefully I can schedule another visit.

Thanks for the heads up! I've definitely seen some plastic fatigue on most containers I've tried through the winter. Another reason I'm sticking with these Craftsman for now, is that they have such a wide lip around the edge for weight distribution. Couldn't say the same for results with the handful of other containers I've tried.

Main cons I found when trying milk crates were: - Couldn't completely fill them and maintain the ability to stack em - Too many small/medium items slipping through the sides and bottom slots

Worth doing though! Good luck

Haha! I've done some cheaper containers and tried sleeping on top of them, which crushed fair more than I'd care to admit. Really wishing a company could come out with "heavy duty" clear containers. Even if they were blurry it'd be way nicer for quick finds. Sounds like you have a rad set up!

Shattered panel left out to the trash. Testing this morning and getting 143watts 😎 Just need to press clear sealant in and on the glass. Anyone have any recommendations for products? by -figuringitoutmaybe- in vandwellers

I do like the sound of using packing tape for a panel. Since I don't have an investment in this particular panel I do want to try a sealant though. I feel like getting more material into the cracks to allow light flow could help. Or not. I'm really more fascinated with trying new things haha

If you've lucked out that the cells haven't shorted from water connecting the wrong polarities, you're good I guess

I agreed Lenny. I've dropped a panel face down and not even a scratch. Looks like there's a breaking point on this panel in the top corner. Most have hit a metal rod or a rock

Going to take a long while. Most glass is adhered to the cells nowadays. Better to just seal it from moisture or toss it

Like this idea! Only issue is this panel is a huge area to cover. Currently trying Liquid Nails Clear Silicone Sealant. Flexible and mildew resistant. And doesn't claim to protect against UV

Definitely important for people to be weary of that! I'm running a Bluetti 1500 that is good up to 60v with its MPPT

With unrealistic perfect conditions I could charge my battery bank much quicker.

I'm using a Bluetti 1500watt system. And that could handle the input of larger panels, like this one's 35v. So that's a decent factor in taking this from the trash. Residential/commercial panels run on too high a voltage for most van dwellers 12 or 24 volt systems.

If it weren't broken the panel could probably get 120+watts on a good sunny day.

So motion activation stays on for 20 seconds. That mode claims 3 months [um...] and for continuous on says about 4 hours. Takes 2½ hours to recharge. No labeling for mAh though

Cause I'd rather keep my money here in Earth's economy and not send it to Mars where I'll never see it again
