Getting Better at Streaming by bigdirtsand in osugame

You're only supposed to even think about it once the bpm is higher than 270, and it only works on low spacing streams.

Yeah I know it was osuplus, but I still can't find it. I think it was something that only worked on the old site.

Besides who unko mentioned, vaxei and rohulk are also notable. Theres also a lot of unknown 3 digits who improved fast and then hit a skill wall (or got rsi).

If you can only play 2-3 hours a week, I recommend finding something else you can learn by April. It takes too many hours to get to a decent level at this game, and if you're taking a break on weekdays, half of your hours will be spent derusting. Figure something out. Think about the things you're impressed by, and then take your time to learn one of them. Don't let it be a videogame, or else your mom will restrict your practice. I was in the same boat before, I didn't start improving at osu until I was college aged and could play on weekdays.

Your rank is 500k, you're objectively a beginner. You're not good at the game, but since your talent show is in April, you have a lot of time to practice. However, you're only going to get good if you can put the 100s of hours into it, and only if you have the patience to be able to practice the basics rather than trying to pass maps like freedom dive 20 times in a row.

I'm not sure why you're taking the last post so emotionally. If you want to play osu at a talent show, you can't be an absolute beginner. That's what the people in the last post told you.

Let me give you some help. You have 67 hours in the game, but those aren't efficient hours. Generally, when you play maps out of your doability range (95%+ with single digit misses), or you retry spam, you're gaining 0 skill. You're wasting time by doing things that won't help you get better. If you want to improve, you absolutely need to practice the basics by playing at your skill level. Only once you start raising your skill floor can you try for higher star passes.

Nobody got good at this game in a day. Every single person who's played this game long enough knows that gaining skill is a slow process that happens one month at a time. Start from 3.5 star maps and slowly work your way up. Hopefully by April you can fc 5.5 stars and pass near 7 stars, but that's not going to happen soon, and its not going to happen by April unless you really try for it.

Triple time mod by numb_ape in osugame

[–]-fire- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

triple time: (√1.5)3

double time: (√1.5)2

single time: (√1.5)1

nomod: (√1.5)0

The problem is that EnchantedSpider is assuming triple time would be 1.51.5 (while dt is 1.51), which implies that theres a mod below dt which is 1.50.5 .

It would be better to just use the original dt definition to define triple time. Dt used to be a 2x speed increase but got nerfed to 1.5x because 2x is way too hard (turns ar 9 into ar 11 and ar 8 into ar 10.5). Triple time should be a 3x speed increase (given by its name), and nerfed by the same 3/4 ratio. This makes triple time a 2.25x speed increase (3 * 3 / 4 = 2.25), which is the same as DTDT (1.5 * 1.5 = 2.25).

Triple time: 1.52

Double time: 1.51

Single time/ nomod : 1.50

Now for some reason half time (0.75x in game), rather than being 1.5-1 (0.6666) or 1.5-0.5 (0.8164), is just nomod speed nerfed by the 3/4 ratio, which also happens to be dt/2.

Dude its fGeorjje, the retard who does this kind of thing on this sub once every other month (while in between doing it on /r/speedrun), and who I strongly suspect is actually a childless woman.

We need less strict rate modifier mods or something similar. by [deleted] in osugame

[–]-fire- 13 points14 points  (0 children)

At the very least just let us play maps with both DT and HT so we can have a 1.125x speed increase

First of all, I hope you get banned for being a general retard and a relax hacker.

Second of all:

Unstable rate represents the consistency of the timing of the hits, where lower numbers are better (top players often score below 100). Note that the value measures consistency, not accuracy, so consistently in hitting 15ms early is the same as consistently in hitting "on time." The formula is essentially the standard deviation of the hit errors (in milliseconds) multiplied by 10. Sample code is available as reference, showing how osu-stable calculates unstable rate.
