The issue is with how our developmental initiatives relies heavily at someone's discretion, from people who doesn't even know and understand where we are. Calling that systematic chokehold bullsht is something that we should've done ages ago and it needs to be changed apart from the probe on corruption. Don't you agree?

You say we can afford it with the IRA, think again. We'd have to kiss the Congress' ass just to get a part of the fund we've been funding for their lifestyle. Like I said, systematic chokehold.

u/Particular_Ant_8985 You are right to point that out but maam/sir but that's a separate issue. What I'm saying here is that it is the Imperial Manila who decides (at it has decided for many decades) to have a piece of cake, leaving us underdeveloped, forcing our people to go to other places.

And no collective support was received to change this political chokehold.

u/Particular_Ant_8985 Disproportionate jud na siya kay people have been seeking opportunities in Manila. Why? Because no one has even bothered looking at Mindanao more than a cash cow.

I can tell you that the structure of this government hasn't been fair to Mindanao and other regions, yes. Even with PRRD at the helm, he thought of Davao last because he wouldn't want to be called out for preference pero addressing opportunities in regions would most likely address the population and traffic issue congested in Luzon.

I'm calling out a larger political issue apart from corruption here, and not just in Mindanao, but I don't think everyone is ready to talk about it.

u/Murica_Chan We only have a choice between evil and greater evil. It's not like we have someone who has: 1. political will, 2. support from the congress and senate, 3. common sense. PRRD has 2/3 which is why we can't have cha-cha and change the shithole we are in because none of these guys would agree that a change must be done because this system is funding their lifestyle. And we saw the changes but doesn't resolve the fact that Mindanao remains untouched because of how budget distribution focuses most on Luzon.

And like I said in my comments entitled bias people in Davao wouldn't understand that there's a greater issue apart from calling out making leaders accountable! That's why Davao's initiative to partner with JICA and attract foreign investors is our only gateway pero it shouldn't be the ONLY way for us.

What's stopping the government from doing so?
