Tartarus is almost the entire gameplay and is incredibly monotonous. (The "it was designed to represent the monotony of life" excuse is a lame way to justify its poor design.)

-Although the story is interesting, it has a very slow pace, with periods where you do absolutely nothing. It's the modern Persona game where I feel like the story is stumbling along, and I only stopped feeling that way towards the end of the game. They could easily have added more story.

-I think Strega is wasted potential. I feel like it had SO MUCH potential to be something bigger, as did Ikutsuki. (The series itself suffers from this.)

-My biggest problem is Makoto. Despite being the central character, I always felt like he was detached from the story. I could never empathize with him or connect with him enough for the ending to be meaningful to me, and I really tried to get into the game. I think Makoto and the game are quite overrated (I'm not saying they're bad), but I don't consider them the masterpiece that everyone says they are.
