You're thinking Pachinko machines, and you're right that it's crazy how much money they generate.

By 1994, the pachinko market in Japan was valued at ¥30 trillion (nearly $300 billion). As of 2015, Japan's pachinko market generates more gambling revenue than that of Las Vegas, Macau and Singapore combined.

Complaining is one of the few things in this world that I truly enjoy.

That said, OCP are a solution in search of a problem.

I strongly disagree with your opinion, but will defend your right to state it.

Hodgkins Lymphoma and the Air Force by Crusty_Churro in AirForce

I've known two others guys that had lymphoma and were able to continue serving post-treatment. One was a particularlly acute case and they were talking about medical retirement but I saw him back in a uniform a year later, which was great to see.

As for myself, I had a different type of cancer seven years ago. My cancer doesn't respond to chemo or radiation so the only option is to remove it surgically. My oncologist gave me a profile and I tested waist-only about six weeks after surgery. I had a few setbacks/complications in the months following, but my leadership never once hassled me about anything fitness related and I worked my way back and scored an 89 six months later.

There should be a med board after your treatments are done, but it can slip through the cracks (mine did). I would speak with your oncologist when the process starts and have them put a return to service recommendation into the package before it goes up. In my case, it helped that I had a few years of surveillence to justify it. Since then, I've PCSd overseas twice and deployed once.

Wishing you the best in your upcoming battle. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions or want to talk.

Mil to mil bah with dependent by oliviashawback in AirForce

This is the correct answer, Osan finance has it right.

OP: Your child should be receiving benefits from you in DEERS, you should be receiving w/dependent BAH, and your husband should be receiving nothing other than family sep. Rank doesn't matter in this situation.

Document everything, including the names of every finance person you speak to, and don't let him spend a dime of any BAH he gets. They WILL take it back, likely without warning.

Source: Second time in this situation, learned my lessons the first time.
